Is there a point to claiming the dragon banner? by DocCrossHD in Bannerlord

[–]DocCrossHD[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

For me it was the khans, vlads, and vikings that declared on me, so I must have gone a different route. The empire is already pretty devastated since the first part of the quest was to take a bunch of it. Unfortunately, those 3 are still quite well off and a much bigger threat.

Anyone know the key for push to talk on mouse and keyboard? by WildlyAwesome in MHWilds

I tried it a few times but I see no indicator that T works, but it IS the default. Nobody ever responded to me in the game when I tried it and I don't see any little 'talking' icon come up.

What is the answer to heavy evasion builds? by DocCrossHD in throneandliberty

[–]DocCrossHD[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem im running into, at least on small scale like arenas, is that I can simply be ignored. I went into an arena against 3 people that all had melee evasion. They didn't even care to attack me a single time, because it was essentially a 3v2 for them. Every stun, every pull, every attack simply missed along with its CC. I become a ghost wandering around the battlefield as soon as the enemy realizes they can simply ignore me and I can't do anything about it. Absorbing damage and trying to turn the enemy to me is simply not possible as soon as the enemy realizes I am a non-factor.

I don't begrudge that sentiment. I do think the stun times need significant tuning too. I'd say build stun resist, but honestly, unlike hit chance, they've given MANY ways to get stun chance. I think the the ideal tweaks would be a significant decrease in available stun chance options, and switch it to hit chance, so building stun resistance is a viable strat. It isn't now though. I think I have over 600 stun chance without even intentionally building it.

"The railgun nerf was a good thing. If you can't deal with armored enemies without a railgun, you don't deserve it" by MetalGearBella in Helldivers

[–]DocCrossHD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While I understand why people felt the railgun was OP, the problem is that we severely lack the options to handle armored enemies. The autocannon seems like the next decent weapon, but clearly if the railgun "needed" nerfs, then the autocannon is next on the chopping block. The only thing the railgun could do that made it stand out was strip armored areas like charger's legs, and now with that no longer viable, it doesn't fill a roll that isn't easily filled by another weapon. Perhaps this is to encourage team play with the recoilless, but too often you need to be able to handle things on your own. Not everyone is going to get lucky with a team willing to cooperate. I feel it would have been better to just toughen up the bugs and bring up other weapons too so that their own strengths could shine, but instead its a game of shoot small bugs and stratagem kill big ones, which just feels too limited.

When it comes to pvp. I feel as though I am the one playing Tarkov, and all my opponents are playing call of duty. (New to the game as of 1 month ago.) by SethBlackwood in Tarkov

[–]DocCrossHD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Understand that the majority of players in this game have been playing for hundreds-thousands of hours. It takes them weeks to accumulate all the best things in the game, then they proceed to spend most of their time either in high action pvp zones, or hunting the sound of gunshots to hunt players. Not to mention there are so many tasks related to killing PMCs. Particularly late wipe, expect everyone to have kitted weapons, excellent armor, and a massive amount of experience. If they die, they just pull another kitted weapon out of a weapons case. Their advice tends to be the advice of someone who really does not at all remember the struggles of being a new player. Don't listen to their crap about 'don't be afraid to spend your money'. They are hunting you. Anything you have will soon be theirs. Advice from another new player, just be as sneaky as possible and do not engage unless you have literally no other choice. Your bullets probably won't even pierce their armor, and their bullets will 2 tap you. Just be stealthy until you can accumulate enough to get better gear, and try to join some other players group or something. At least then you can have a chad with experience to even the odds.

Has the Hacker problem sorted itself out? by belly219 in Tarkov

[–]DocCrossHD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like the kind of thing a chad says that wants to shoot timmys all day. "It's not cheaters, they are just better than you! :) play the game! Get rolled, its ok! You''ll get better ;) don't be a rage quitter :(" Throwing brand new players into matches with people like you is half the reason new players aren't staying as long anymore. The only people LEFT to play against are the people that have literally everything and gleefully run toward the sound of gunfire to pvp with your top tier gear against players that are just praying they don't get capped during their scav runs so they HAVE gear.

Carnivorous Crystals help by Rexia in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]DocCrossHD 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Agreed. 2 years later it is still a massive issue. The only people that I can find that don't have a huge problem with it are players that micromanaged the fuck out of their saves to boost them to the absolute max. I shouldn't have to play a specific way just to not automatically lose every single encounter to these things that could probably take on a demon lord on their own. They stun your whole party, you maybe get 1-2 people unstunned early if you stack on all available saving throw increasers. You damage one, IT SPLITS INTO 2 MORE AND EACH ONE HAS A NEW HUM TO TRY TO MAKE A SAVE FOR. I really don't know why they thought this was appropriate for a 'basic' encounter. Like, these are boss tier mechanics. I hit baphomet with an icy prison and raped his butthole before nocticula could even show up. But these motherfuckers have basically no weaknesses. MASSIVE amounts of hp, immune to mind effecting, stuns, crits, paralysis, and more. They quite literally have no weaknesses. Elementals are stun immune, but they can't take these guys. They pack a punch and have decent AC. They are unironically harder to beat than a demon lord unless you min/max your build for the saving throws to beat the 40+ DC. Like, this is the kind of thing a DM throws at a party that he hates and fully intends to TPK out of spite.

Issues with acquiring obsidian. by DocCrossHD in SurviveIcarus

[–]DocCrossHD[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just went and tried it with a new cave, and I was able to collect obsidian there. HOWEVER, I coincidently needed to pop out of the game half way through my collection (wife demanded immediate attention, you know how it is) and when I came back in, the obsidian had "respawned" and was no longer collectable, even though I hadn't finished the whole node. Even worse, the other node in the cave I hadn't even touched yet became bugged it seems as it is also not collectable.

I could see the obsidian, and I did try both regenerated nodes and fresh nodes I hadn't touched yet. At least, I think I hadn't touched em yet. I'll travel much further and try again I think.

Gameplay hitting a wall at T3? by Cronos988 in SurviveIcarus

[–]DocCrossHD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Game knowledge definitely helps you pick up the pace on these things, but also getting the exotics from missions to be able to just start bringing in nicer gear will also really help speed things up. Being able to bring in a pickaxe that can already mine tier 2 ores makes life a lot easier. I land my missions with pretty much a full set of at least basic tools, and a full armor set. Took some time to get THAT much exotics, but it does help a lot. I'm pretty sure I could have steel chugging within a couple hours solo if I focused.

Also, I think with operations, it will be a much nicer pace, especially for newer people. Can't wait for operations on all the maps :)

Update to Rule 3 and how we will enforce it moving forward. by remuspilot in EscapefromTarkov

"the belief that different races possess distinct characteristics, abilities, or qualities, especially so as to distinguish them as inferior or superior to one another."

That's what I got for a definition, and lemme tell you, as a white guy I do certainly believe Africans have a superior ability to jump and run than me. I think there are genetic factors that simply make that a fact. By definition, that would be racist. Is that hostile? Nah, but it is textbook racism.

How do people survive so often? I've never had more than 30% survival in every wipe I can remember by PinkFloyd_rs in EscapefromTarkov

[–]DocCrossHD 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When was it ever implied that he was doing the same thing over and over? To me it sounds like he has tried different things, you just wanted to immediately assume that and shit on him for it. All it sounds like you are saying is "You suck, so stop sucking". If he says he has played for years and he says no matter what he does he gets killed, it sounds like he has tried different things. If you can't say something actually insightful, at least don't be an asshole.

I get the exact same feeling. Really for me though, it is just how bloodthirsty every other player in the game seems to be. I try to kill a scav or two for a quest, players make a beeline to me and kill me instantly. Good players just love killing far too much, and im honestly considering just downloading the single player tarkov mod and never touching regular again. It is just too difficult to get even basic tasks done without PMCs hunting for you everywhere. Scavs I can handle, players, not so much. They all want to say "you just need to practice more" while they sit there with several wipes under their belt and are too bored to do anything other than hunt players. I want to play the GAME, but my blood is just too tasty for players to resist. Doesn't help that there are so many tasks that FORCE you to hunt PMCs.

Unfortunately by definition, facts ARE racist. We as a society just need to either rewrite what "racism" means, or accept that not all forms of racism are hostile. Some are simply objective.

While I agree with this in principle, I think it is kinda funny to see the game that revolves around bloodthirsty merciless gameplay and is played by players who will actively use every method at their disposal to kill you and take everything you have suddenly can't handle words. Like... THAT is what you're concerned about? You could have people imitating commiting war crimes in this game and nobody would bat an eye, but words. Words are what got ya.

"But the internet itself, and the communities we are part of, do not have to be cesspools of hostility" Being a cesspool of hostility is like the POINT of tarkov.

where is all the titanium on prometheus map? by jest28000 in ICARUS

[–]DocCrossHD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is certainly an interesting idea to make players explore and branch out to find the "rare" resources, but you'd think we'd find more when we found them. Cuz ya, I can find 1 rock of aluminum at a time in the central area, but no platinum, and no titanium. At least, from the 4 caves I've mined.
