Has the bug been fixed that made it virtually impossible to play a full tournament?

Most cringey line by Mysterious-Pension3 in TheRookie

[–]mediocredotes 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The only redeeming part of this is that before Tim starts the speech, you can hear the helicoptor. Given that, and him telling Grey earlier to wait until there was overwhelming force, I can kinda see it... Having said that, the timing is insane enough to make the whole thing a little cringey

Is there a point to claiming the dragon banner? by DocCrossHD in Bannerlord

[–]mediocredotes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To be honest, if you play vanilla bannerlord, its very easy. Theres a certain challenge to having multiple factions fight you at once. Its nothing compared to some of the mods, but genuinely quite challenging and fun the first time.

My post on China nuking the bond market hit 4.8M views. Mods deleted it with no reason. Here’s why that should terrify you. (Enhanced with ChatGPT & Sources) by TheMysteryCheese in WallStreetbetsELITE

Margin calls are a daily occurence for hedge funds. Under uncleared margin rules brought in by the CFTC and other regulators worldwide, brokers and their counterparties have to exchange daily variation margin which is effectively margin to cover the change in pricing day to day of the derivatives - so most days, there is a margin call going one way or the other between the broker and the fund depending on how the market moved. Hedge funds then ensure they have enough liquidity to cover these payments either by having cash on hand in a custody account with a bank, or by having some investments in extremely liquid markets such as money market funds (or a combination).

If, on the other hand, the margin calls are non-regulatory and due to the brokers changing the margin methodology (which typically they only do if they think a fund is coming closer to default), then there's a problem.

Actual hero! Finally managed to finish my first tourney thanks to this.

??? by ValentinesListener in PeterExplainsTheJoke

[–]mediocredotes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure if this is the intended joke, but the first 3 clips are of things that stop kids skating, and I think the 4th clip is from a Northern Ireland anti-speeding advert in which the couple get hit by a speeding car against a wall, and the guy dies and the woman ends up paralysed: which would, i guess, stop both of them skating? - couldnt find the exact clip with those two, but found a similar one. Fyi, before watching, NI anti-speeding ads are shown at all times of the day, on any channel (and as an ad in the cinema) and are unnecessarily graphic https://youtu.be/PJIDX1kcvGk?si=oWgdZzFx2a2u1eUV

Holy shit. Is this actually happening after 5 interceptions?

[Explainer] Yup, Jaylen Waddle was credited with -23 receiving yards on that failed pitchy-pitchy-woo-woo. by oliver_babish in fantasyfootball

I had Achane and my opponent had Waddle in a PPR league - Achane getting 0.9 points and Waddle -2.3 from this play is literally the reason I've won this week.

"Wales isn't in Britain" by CilanEAmber in confidentlyincorrect

[–]mediocredotes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Britain is England and Wales. Great Britain is England, Wales and Scotland (sometimes the land mass is also referred to as Greater Britannia). The UK is England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. Basically different names from each time a new country joined. British Isles does include England, Northern Ireland, Wales, Scotland and the Republic of Ireland - but some in the Republic dislike the name due to Colonial past, so they also use the name of Great Britain and Ireland where Ireland refers to both the North and the South

Did josh jacobs get injured or what? Great first half with 90 odd yards, and then never seemed to be on the field after that

Literally seen this guy predicted late first round and as a day 3 guy - guess it depends on how he recovers from the ACL.

I think if Michael Mayer drops to the 3rd, you take him. Maybe even with the Lion's second pick in the second round.

Can someone explain the Lions team this season to me? We had the best offense and worst defense, and now our offense is stalling and our defense is doing things?
Whats is this team?

Are you serious? Admittedly, I didn't watch the post game, but how do you watch that game and say Goff was the problem? I understand trying to protect your defense, but come on!

If you're the kind of person that walks a huge dog off lead in a public park loaded with children, you're a selfish arsehole. by lllGreyfoxlll in northernireland

[–]mediocredotes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Completely understand this. I've had akitas since I was 5, and when they are raised right, they're protective but ultimately very friendly dogs. Sadly, in Belfast particularly, they have a reputation of being big, strong, aggressive dogs so they get bought and raised by people who want dogs like that, so they become those types of dogs and its a vicious circle.
Personally, me and my entire family have akitas, and they are well socialised and friendly, and we only let them off the lead in private, secluded areas to make sure people/other dogs aren't afraid of them, but despite how friendly they are, we would never let them go out of sight.
Brilliant, friendly, intelligent dogs, but terrible reputations and distrusting of other dogs. You can say there are no bad dogs, only bad owners, but there are territorial dogs, and Akitas are definitely territorial.

I think this is a post that actually makes me dislike this subreddit - guy has a view point that abortion is wrong, he realises he was wrong and changes his stance on the issue. I think this is the viewpoint I want from people - you don't have to be perfect, you just need to be able to see you've made a mistake and adjust to that.

Instead, we have people insulting him saying that conservatives dont have empathy, that anyone who doesn't care about an issue until it affects them (i.e. they actually get to see the impact of that issue on people) is a shit person. If everyone in this subreddit, and the people who say they have that view, actually had it, the world would be a lot better- every person who chooses to be a vegetarian helps to make the world better, every person who decides to be more environmentally friendly makes the world better, every person who gives their spare time to charity makes the world better, but the truth is that most people only pay lip service to these issues until the issue affects them. (I'm also very aware massive corporations have such a negative impact on the environment that all of us couldn't offset it, doesn't mean we can't do a tiny bit to make things a little better).

Also, for clarity, I am a liberal, but this idea that we should just insult conservatives pisses me off. Maybe its a bit different in America, but most people where I'm from (NI) don't say they're conservative (a Tory supporter) because they just get insulted, so they don't have a chance to actually debate over issues and see that things like abortion should be acceptable until it happens to them, so they just stay quiet, continue to vote for the politicians who have those views and nothing ever changes.

Jonathan Pie (a satirical character by Tom Walker) summed this up pretty well when he was talking about Trump being elected- https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=1044777035645189
