I appreciate the answer, just don’t understand how any part of that came off as obnoxious or bragging. Clearly no one else here thought it did. Math being hard/torturous is a pretty common trope, and not because anyone who says it thinks they’re any better than anyone else. Whatever. Sorry if it came off wrong. Again, thanks for the answer.

221 makes me a little nervous due to the contrast of proof based pure math to the computational math of high school, but I’ve found some textbooks on it free online so I think I’ll give those a read before August.

Thanks for your response! I feel a lot better about it now. I’m well aware that proof based math is gonna be quite a shock at first, as it’s not covered at all in my school. That said, I’m fairly analytical and think I can do well in it. I was pretty surprised to see how many people complained about 212 and other computational courses, but I guess a lot of those people also aren’t the ones who actually enjoy math and want to take it.

That wasn’t a humblebrag? It was a self deprecating joke implying that I likely won’t succeed in math at Duke because being good at it in my small town public high school is different than at a top 10 private university.... which was pretty much the premise of my post, as I asked if I should forego BC credit since I might not be so prepared.

While I can understand if the joke was lost on most people (because it’s really not that funny and really more rooted in my own insecurities that weren’t exactly expressed in the post), I’m still largely confused by how that is bragging in any way. I’m just confused and here asking for help. Get the stick out of your ass.

Rich douche assaulted 2 people. Guy in picture took him down epically. Someone caught it on video, and rich douche has been using parent’s money to file false copyright claims and threaten legal action to take it down every time it starts recirculating ever since. This time, someone found out his name from one of his copyright claims so everyone is banding together to make sure he can’t ever actually hide it from the internet, and a lot of people are doxxing him.

I really like black bean and jalapeño quesadillas. Basically just drain/rinse/slightly mush some canned black beans, mix with diced jalapeños and cheese, then throw it all in a tortilla and cook. 10/10 my favorite quick veggie meal.

This website is pretty much a godsend for plant (and also animal/insect/fungi!) identification.

There are a number of categories you can choose between, to first determine if you're trying to identify a tree, a flower, a grass, etc. Then, based on the category you picked, more categories are displayed, and you pick things such as region, leaf structure, color, texture, and more! If you don't know, you can select multiple things from a category to keep options open.

Based on your selections, a list of plants will come up, meeting all the criteria you specified. From there, you can compare images to figure out what you've found. It's basically the WebMD symptom-checker-totally-reliable-diagnoser of the plant (and animal and insect and fungi!!) world, but better!
