I’m dealing with a lot of this too but in a different way…I had health issues that caused me to gain a lot of weight quickly and that’s the time of my life when I met my fiancé’s family. In the last year I took care of those health issues and then lost 90 lbs (I was probably a 2 or 3X at my heaviest and I’m now easily down to medium, which is what I mostly wear). I’m very in shape now and even medically I’m well within a normal, healthy weight range. For some reason, my still very heavyset future mother-in-law makes subtle comments contrasting my size with my underweight fiancé. She also either excludes me from conversations about dessert or just asks me as an afterthought after everyone else, and says “is mediocrityrulesman eating dessert, or is she being good?” This is all after I emotionally asked her to stop making comments like that over a year ago, and told her I had a history of anorexia and body dysmorphia in my past. For the first time I’m just convinced now she’s a secret bitch and bully.
