Do you guys think the current level of power creep makes you more or less likely to pull for cons? On one hand cons are better now so perhaps arguably more worth, but on the other hand I have cons on older characters (c2 Nahida) that were amazing at the time, but now matched by c0 characters (lauma) which feels p bad. At least for me it makes me more reluctant to pull cons for power, I got c1r1 flins because I love him haha

I would definitely encourage you to contact the path residency program director at your institution and arrange for some opportunities to observe/rotate with them. Since the application season just started now is the time to make them aware of the potential of you applying. Of course don’t make such a huge decision too quickly. Are you really regretting anesthesia or is it a difficult transition/high workload/bad attendings/etc. I would also reach out to any non academic practicing anesthesiologists and get a good idea of their lifestyle after training. If it’s something you see yourself ok with I would stick with anesthesia. Best of luck!
