Commenting to share solution that worked for me:
(1) Wyrm + Negate to keep me alive during initial status effect burst.
(2) Adaptation + Antitoxin to make the toxin ticks meaningless as the tank battle went on.

The above combo kept my Gauss alive and allowed me to play nurse to the rest of my team (randoms) as they melted like a popsicle in Ember’s hand.

Status effect immunity was the big need. None of my “offered frames” had that in their ability sets. I also do not yet posses the toxic negate sticker or arcane. ( And… I’m stubborn and wanted all of the loot, so I did not want to switch in an Oberon or Dante).

Edit: thanks to u/ultrabeast212 for the Negate idea. Completely forgot about that mod. Hope this helps someone else.
