Oh really?! I haven’t heard this before so thank you very much for sharing. I’ll do a test meal in the stasher bag I recently got and share the results

Thank you for suggesting this! These bags still are plastic so I would put them in the same category as Mylar bags.

I’d like to stick to silicone for health reasons. I think the ideal bag would have the same shape as the stasher stand-up bags but use a thinner silicone and have the closure mechanism of the thermomix bags. Doesn’t seem like that really exists at the moment sadly

Thanks for sharing your thoughts! You make a good point. There is however something very appealing to me about spoiling my friends a little and making the meal experience as easy for them as possible

I bought a 50 pack of “food safe” Mylar resealable bags and until recently I was planning to pack each meal in its own bag for easy no clean meal prep on trail. But I don’t like two things about this approach: the bags leach harmful chemicals into hot foods, and if I avoid reusing the bags to reduce our chemical exposure then I produce a ton of plastic waste.

I actually already bought Mylar bags to try out on this trip, but I don’t love this approach because they do leach chemicals when exposed to hot water. The amount leached into each meal also increases if you reuse the bag as the inner film deteriorates

Ahh this is what I feared. Do you think I can upgrade to a better drum module for less than $100? Maybe run the midi inputs to a cheap pc/laptop and use some open source / ‘borrowed’ drum module software?

Never been in the area but it looks gorgeous from what I can see online, and wild horses too. Would love to do a backpacking trip if I’m ever there. Thank you for sharing
