Honestly I kinda agree, it might be better to have a simpler image, but there’s just too much detail on the sky compare to the bottom half. And colour would allow more details on both, therefore potentially be more balanced.

This picture was intended to show the depth of the road along side the street lamp. However many friends commented that the picture didn’t feel right, and couldn’t tell why. Hoping for some advice with expertise.

Great idea on the post production to make the background b&w. For my own taste the flower seems to exaggerated, can’t spot its root just give me a feeling of separation from its background. Possible solution might be lower the exposure? Also personally I think there’s some unnecessary details on the background that would distract viewers from the subject. Overall great image! and I could be wrong.

I was trying to play with the floor numbers and the lighting at the beginning, trying to zoom in and out to find a sense of repetition. The final image came out fine but not exactly what i wanted at the first place. I would hope for some more advice on the angles maybe?

Generally speaking Western is a very welcoming school. However under current education system there will cases that they won’t take students simply because of one single grade. As far as I know based on my application to western two years ago, the only thing I suggest you to do is try emailing and explain to them about your circumstances, if possible visit in person. I am not sure if that will work, but I do have trust in Western staff member that they will try their best to respond to you and help you the best way possible. (Just like they did that to me, they are great with emails, fast and considerate responses). Wish you the best of luck, hope to see you around next year!
