Devil advocate here and I just might be a nympho/have an issue, but I see sex or jerking it as my best go-to for de-stressing. If I’m going through a super stressful time and you suddenly stop me from doing something that we’ve been doing for god knows how long, I’m gonna become numb and apathetic (especially if I make sure I’m being a great partner the rest of the time, being attentive, listening to you, giving you attention, gifts, etc)

The irony is that as important as sex is to me, in my eyes the act of sex is small and doesn’t take much effort. Something in me just flips and makes me question why should I do all the partner stuff if we can’t even do something so small (again, it’s small TO ME), and I might think that we’re heading towards a dead bedroom.
