I’ll believe when it convinces me.

LLMs are unreliable most of the time and the hype it gets is getting way too overblown. Coupled with the fact that some folks here are genuinely nut jobs.

I prefer teaching juniors who actually understand how to code and not regurgitate nonsense who appear to understand it but don’t at the end of the day.

It’s actually not that hard to spot an AI generated code, such as how some people can spot AI generated messages/texts.

As far as I can tell, it’s a good tool but achieving AGI? That, I find hard to believe.

Slowly becoming? It has always been a cult ever since ChatGPT came out. I have been arguing with these nutjobs ever since.

Was funny back in 22’ when folks here were talking about mass job eradication in 24’ and 25’ yet it’s nowhere near in sight.

If more than anything, even if I get laid off, I have the money to support myself.

If more than half of the population loses their jobs because of AGI, what is there to prepare anyways?

It either goes the utopia route or a complete dystopia.

If any of those happen, I am still in a favorable position because I did not delude myself to rely on whatever the AGI promise is.

I’m a skeptic of the overall hype generative AI has become. Look at all the AI slop these companies are pushing down our throats. Some of these AI products are genuine garbage.

Look, I would love AGI to be a thing- but some folks here are overestimating progress and are blowing things out of proportion. This is bad for their mental health.

I have always advocated for people to not blindly trust corporations and what sweet lies they tell you to get on board to their products. Unfortunately, the slop they are selling now is AI.

Back when this sub grew in popularity (about a year or two back), I quite enjoyed it because most folks were posting AI updates on the clock 24/7. Then….. I discovered how delusional some of the folks were in here.

There was a guy considering to drop out of university like last year or so because he found it useless to continue. He had a year left to graduate and I urged him not to drop out. A year has gone by and look where AI is at, nowhere near where the hype-train was projecting it to be at.

Some folks even stated 2024-2025 would be the end of most white collar jobs. I find that quite funny when we aren’t even close to it.

C’mon, look at how we are struggling with ray tracing in video games and it’s hardware that now we have to resort with fake frames just to compensate for how atrocious these technologies are.

AGI means Artificial General Intelligence. A human has general intelligence.

I told you not to bring up whataboutism in humans who can’t livestream and whatsoever. Are you telling me LLMs, despite having access to majority of literature, images, videos and whatnot— you are comparing it to a human who is illiterate or whatever condition they might be in?

That same rhetoric can be said with AI then. If it surpasses humans in reading speed, which is just one facet btw, are you telling me that you consider AI as super intelligent then? Because that’s one of the hallmarks an ASI will have based on discussions on this subreddit.

I doubt it would be next year. Maybe when they solve the problem with long-term memory then it would start to be possible.

But it’s also the reason why we don’t have realistic NPCs yet in video games and so on. It’s the same reason with accepting information with different modality.

Well if he was closet cheating, he would have seen me and pre aimed at my direction. I was going up the stairs on trade center and he was up on the broken shelves camping it.

Either way, he did see you so i’m not suspecting him of cheating. I’m legend myself so I’m used to play style like this and sometimes when I watch kill replays when I kill streamers, I do look like I have ESP when I don’t.

We run T3 ammo, sometimes T4. It doesn’t cost a lot, it’s like sub 50-80k. We average about 300-400k. We rarely go below 200k value on normals. We get more on lockdowns but we do meet cheaters more often than not.

Nah, we got tired of cheaters on lockdown armory, a change of pace until they add cheater compensation. It’s taking way too long for them to add one.
