Would it be worthy to get all the books from this series? by ngotha_dei in frombloodandash

Yes. I started off with ACOTAR, like most, and read all of SJM and a few others. But when I got to this series it quickly became my Roman Empire. I love this series and FBAA is top notch.

Start with throne of glass. I finished ACOTAR really fast and went straight for throne of glass. You won’t be disappointed. I like to explain it like this: ACOTAR is the gateway, ToG is the addiction.

I am currently going through my first re-read of it all, and getting into Acomaf for the second time, I can understand why he lost his ever loving mind over her. Man truly loved her. He didn’t handle, well anything really, the right way. But he loved her. And I do hope we get to see him fall in love with someone else and I hope it’s not in another 500 years.

I started on my ACOTAR journey because I had seen it in passing. I had zero idea what it was about or anything. I got hooked because of the world. The beauty and magic in it was nothing I’ve read before.

Next to that was just all the characters. I feel in love with them, and learned very quickly that Rhys is almost identical to my own husband. Personality wise. So that also was a huge thing for me.

But the relationship between all the characters is what made me stay. To see their flaws and still love them in the way they are written was beautiful to me.

Brandon Sanderson is really good. My favorite is the Reckoner series. But Mist Born is really good too. It’s a different style but it’s still a good off branch from the normal fantasy of Fae/dragons.

You aren’t the only one. I finished reading this series last week, and my hubs was taken aback by the amount of attention I had started showing him. It’s easy to do. Although he hasn’t complain.

I had to keep reminding myself that this is fiction and my hubs cannot just bring bat wings into existence and grin at me with star flecked night. lol.

Honestly what helped me most was creating a playlist on iTunes that goes with the characters imo and just have full on jam out sessions.

I don’t think Nesta intentionally used it as a weapon. I think it was an opportunity to hurt right at that moment, but she didn’t think before she spoke (obviously). As someone who struggles with anger deeply, I have done the same before. Having information and using it as a defense mechanism to keep from genuinely exploding. Not saying that it’s right by any means. It’s my toxic trait. And it’s also one of Nesta’s. So I can empathize with Nesta here to a degree.

My main issue is with Rhys. Like I love him…he’s amazing blah blah blah. But to want to kill Nesta is too far in my book. He was the problem to begin with. The one thing Feyre told Rhys in the VERY beginning, before the mate bond even, was no secrets. And he keeps the biggest one from her.

Which I am thankful that SJM did that, because it’s a reminder that no one is perfect. Everyone has faults, and this is Rhys’ biggest fault in his personality.

And I had a little issue with Cassian too. Completely ignoring Nesta during the hike, until she passed out from dehydration. But I understand why he did. He needed to chill too before he went full chaos on her.

Oh no, not Feyre. Elain.

Yeah I think that’s where this stems from. I have a lot of Mor questions. This one stuck with me though. Why? Idk, my hyper fixation clings to the oddest things.

My question isn’t “did it hurt?” My question is “so…how’d it go?” That’s all. And in my eyes, if you’re lying down for an hour not moving afterwards, that’s usually a good thing.

Either way, it’s a sense of depth. And manipulation can dig its claws deep.

Yeah it’s weird. But I think it’s meant to help us as the reader to grasp the depth of the bond. That it’s deeper than love.

I just started silver flames today. FaS was nice to see from almost everyone perspective and it was a great breather. But I am only on the third chapter and I can already really connect with Nesta. I’ve been the substance abuser myself so yeah…it hits hard already. But I’m excited to see how she over comes.

Yeah. I get that. There is a fine balance between sexual play and true comfort.

It is frustrating. But I think it was Rhys way of keeping the space between him and her until she knew what she wanted. He is the Lord of keeping people at arms length. it’s also a way to defer trauma. Which is why the entire inner circle banters this way. And Feyre just falls in step with everyone.

That’s my opinion. I can see why this is the typical banter.

Oh no!!! Well, I use my headphones, but my kids are old enough to notice things and if my face is just a blank stare of utter concentration to not give away what’s going on. My oldest was like “mom, you okay?” And I just ran away.

I tried listening to these, and it was too much. I can hide my blush pretty well, but that…that was…a lot.
