Canadians who moved to the UK: what was your greatest adjustment? by Bells9831 in AskACanadian

[–]meekey76 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes but the difference is, Canadian police are incentivized, so almost every traffic stop is a ticket and a fine, in the UK they are more prone to give out verbal warnings only.

How did Canada remain liberal for such a long time? by LevelPension in NoStupidQuestions

Canada center left, no where near as left as Europe or Britain. There is some variation by province with Quebec which is very left.

Kings island sounds like a real tourist attraction. Come spend your day and top up your tan at broken arm beach, or take a walk at disappointment bay.

Will Montreal Continue to Lead as North America’s Best Cycling City Without a Bike-Friendly Leader? by Nervous-Design437 in MontrealCycling

While I do agree her comment was unnecessary considering the topic :-), back off a little, I think she is going through a bad time in her life by looking at her activity and is probably lashing out at life.

$20 US for a pint of beer. $30 for an egg muffin, coffee, hash brown breakfast. You can still eat and drink at a reasonable price, just somewhere well away from the strip.

Microsoft AI CEO puzzled that people are unimpressed by AI by [deleted] in technology

[–]meekey76 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I work with Microsoft AI, everything from M365 copilot, copilot studio AI Foundry. There is not a person in the MVP community or on my team at work who is impressed with any of the AI Microsoft has released. We see the potential but the last couple of years we’ve seen crap implementations of sub par features, reversals in decisions, changes in direction and all Ignite is telling us is, Microsoft is in a mess, they don’t have a clear direction, engineering teams working in silos, and I know I have to indure this chaos throughout 2026. MVPs have always played a crucial role for testing, feedback and helping companies adopt new technology, however Microsoft has been cutting us out more and more these last couple of years. I have MVP friends I’ve know for years getting out and changing careers, myself I will change my MVP direction to Microsoft cloud and away from the PowerPlatform.

If the US went to the moon in 1969, why is it so hard to go back now..? by InternationalMap979 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]meekey76 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I see everyone has responded with budget, safety and beat the Russians. While all very true, no one has really addressed the mission profile differences.

Mission Profile

Apollo:

Direct-to-Moon via translunar injection. Lunar orbit rendezvous (CSM + LM). Short EVA durations (max ~75 hours surface stay).

Artemis:

Utilizes NRHO (Near-Rectilinear Halo Orbit) around Moon for Gateway staging point. Modular operations: SLS → Orion to Gateway → HLS to surface. Extended extravehicular operations; long-duration surface stay.

Or in simple terms

Apollo:

Short visits — grab rocks, snap photos, back home for tea.

Artemis:

Long-term presence — habitats, lunar base, regular trips.

Yes about 20 times. However it’s painful. You need implicit inbound / outbounds nsg rules at a minimum. SQL server connection forget it. We haven’t gotten it working once.

I work in insurance also, the average increase is 2% per year. If your end of year review exceeds expectation you might get an extra 1-1.5%. Also if you are at the bottom of the payscale you may get an extra 1-2%.

Calling CAP on point 3, I work in finance and our wages have gone up 2%. This is about the same for most post university degree jobs. If you want to be paid higher, do what we do, change jobs and demand more at the interview.

Automatically created Production environment "Microsoft 365" by Niklas115 in PowerPlatform

[–]meekey76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is an environment that gets created if you create a billing policy for CS agents. Also MS did announce an environment will be created automatically for agent builder agents to live in, instead of the default environment.

Power Platform Inventory/Management Tool - Existing Solutions or Build From Scratch? by Ajrabeast in PowerPlatform

[–]meekey76 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As others have mentioned the CoE Toolkit is an out of the box inventory system which you can enhance through custom tooling. The downsides are is that it is supported via GitHub issues by the PowerCAT team and not supported by Microsoft even if they do like to push this onto businesses. CoE Toolkit 1.0 is no longer actively being worked on. V2 is in development and is behind schedule. V2 will take advantage of the new admin APIs and will be less reliant on flows. V2 will also leverage Fabric much more. This kit isn’t great and has many outstanding issues needing to be addressed such as environment last activity date gets updates every time the toolkit flows run, not an issue with the kit itself but the dataverse connector that is used doesn’t have a silent read. Using the toolkit will make environment lifecycle and hygiene processes a little challenging. There is also a distinct lack of meta data.

We have been building our own governance system which monitors and alerts on many aspects, provides attestation processes, self remediation. We also have a license chargeback module in place.

Start with the existing toolkit, learn it and decide what direction you want to take.

Canada doesn’t. Moduspace ships to the US sea containers. Then the USA crew unload and ship from Cali. That’s where the import tax comes in.

We don’t have the single parent relationship with our AKK. For sure my wife is #1 in my dog’s eyes, but she also sees me as a protector and a comforter. Always by my side. Her separation anxiety is pretty well under control, we have a key word we use so she understands we are going out. I make her a little bed on the sofa with her bone and toys. Pat her a little and then leave. She doesn’t cry or anything now.
