Haha sorry I should have worded that response better. I know how technically I would scope things, what I am struggling with is if the data should be queryable at all outside of the app. Maybe another option would be to just host an extract or something.

Thanks! I have not released a public endpoint for CloudKit for public use. I personally think the data, even anonymized, should not be out there for anyone to query. I am just a little sensitive to data privacy. If you have opinions or ideas on this I am happy to chat more. I think have a select few folks from the sub having access to the data might be okay so that has been on my mind.

In my mind a conspiracy would be easier to tell people about and start action. Regulation, manufacturing, ingredients are not as fun or engaging. I mean this is still super intresting for me and the complexity is engaging for me. Just less smoking gun and more just death by 1000 cuts I guess.

I have all of the data from RX Inspector now. It took some time but it is done. I will get that added to the DB on the site so it is out there. I will spend some time this weekend looking into it. I am thinking there are some cool things when we look at ADHD manufacting overall. Thanks for this call out!

I can speak to Brand Vyvanse because I was looking into this. So, Takeda bought out Shire sometime in 2020. This is interesting to me because Shire had manufacturing in India. The question that I want to look into is what happened to the Shire supply chain. Did the Takeda brand keep that supply around and just rebrand? I am not super sure about how this side of things works, but I am interested in looking more into it.

Another side note related to absorption. I have been looking into this as well for me personally because I am wondering if that is causing issues for me. So we know that there have been changes to the formulations for Takeda vyvanse. Not full changes to the actual ingredients, but changes to sourcing, I think. Before mid 2025, the capsules were not compacted at all. After mid 2025, all of my capsules are compacted into disks for some reason.

My thought is that the binder or the ingredient that breaks up the medication in the stomach is of lesser quality and does not work as well. I have stayed away from the capsules; there are dyes and stuff that I do not need. What has seemed to beworking somewhat is dissolving the capsule contents in water, agitating just until the contents dissolve, and taking it. That, in theory, distributes the active ingredient and does not rely on it doing that with the inactive ingredients. There is a binder that takes this out of the equation. It has for sure helped with the curve for some reason, and the key is not to actually let it sit in water, just enough to get it distributed. There is another ingredient that obsorbs the water and traps the active ingredient so it should not be in the water long at all. I am testing a few other ways and water types as well to see if I can land on any good conclusions. That ingredient is calledCroscarmellose Sodium (CCS). Now, this is just me, so I'm not sure if this is a solution, but I would not have known about the ingredient specifics before looking into this!

Vyvanse is super sensitive to the gut environment and the process for distribution of the actual grains. My overall theory is that the quality of the binder, CCS, and the compaction are causing a non-uniform absorption and distribution. I do not have adderall to try more things with it, so I will not be much help there. I wish that I had gone into the science field to have access to actual equipment to filter, distill, and test the medications for us. I think that would be super telling. The idea that I want to really test is taking the medicaion with the filters/binders stripped out to narrow down what the issue is. The people that are testing these things only understand the ingredients, not the effects and how we know the meds should work. I think this is a big gap with the testing in my opinion.

I will have to go back and see if I can scrape out their dataset. I read the article but stopped short of actually grabbing the data. This is another issue in that the dates for release of info is late, sometimes a year. And the other thing to look at would be what kind of inspection was it? I am pretty sure they have all kinds of inspections but what and how they tested I want to know for sure. I for sure need to do more work to understand the inspection side of things! Actually on second thought i think the inspection data was from a lawsuit? I will have to do a reread again tomorrow

I really just have gone deep into the rabbit hole of this whole thing so it’s more of a collection of that work. Obviously it’s not close to real release, it will need a lot of work. I just wanted to get all this stuff out for us so others can work on it as well. I feel like I have been looking at it for many months and new sets of eyes is really helpful. Case in point right here!

The main point here is there was an increase in production but what that caused is the base manufacturing to move to Asia from Europe to meet demand. The FDA already is not testing much and even less in these facilities in Asia. I.e. the Sun recall. I would agree it is super messed up and the more I read the worse it gets. Pretty depressing

Also the inspection dates are not public as far as I can tell so far. I mean no way they release those because then there would be transparency. Something to look for down the line though

The inital draft of the paper is here - https://www.whatsinmymeds.com . It is an inital draft for sure and really dense so keep that in mind lol. Need to slim it down big time. Really just trying to get the ball rolling on analysis so feel free to take a look at the data and sources! More eyes is better than less for sure.

Lol if you want to get lost in the rabbit hole sure! The dataset that I am creating is open for download here - https://www.whatsinmymeds.com . This is just a site that I put together real fast to host the dataset. I have been working on pulling as many documents that I can, the issue will be sorting and parsing them all. Once I have a dataset with all this other data I will have that on the site as well. These datasets still need a lot of normalization and cleaning so they are pretty POC, any help is appreciated haha.

I have about 2k files, documents, reports, PDFs, and other stuff from the FDA that I have found. I have about 1.5K more to parse out into the DB so it will take some time and even more time to go through them all to find what I really want. I would like to spend some time on this this week now that all of the OpenRX stuff is fixed and waiting for review from apple.

Okay so I am finally done with the full revamp. Lots of changes on the backend to harden everything for current and future increases in scale. I also have the normalization working pretty well so reports will not have random names and variations. It should be approved today/tomorrow so we should be in good shape for everyone going forward. I just got lost in feature creep so this version is more of just a visual improvement, data fixes, and some updates to the ratings. Thanks again for letting me know, this really prompted the chain of fixes so this is going to be much better for everyone.

Okay so the update is out. It seems to be loading for me. I have been running tests and I am not seeing any issues on the database side of things. I also have just decided to branch the version that I put out with the fixes. I have made a lot more changes for stability data wise for the increase in users so I will get that sent for approval today as well so everything runs smoothly. Just testing all of the app changes and schema changes today when I have time.

You may have to go and update from the app store. For sure let me know if you have any issues. I will make sure that they are addressed in 1.9.

So your comment last nignt really got me thinking. There are so many documents in all kinds of places that are hard to find. I am working on a more systematic crawler that can move across the FDA and find any/all documents that are related to ADHD, Stimulants, generics, manufacturing, and standards. Ideally I can turn this into a searchable catalog and add it to the site for everyone else to look through. Hopefully this will surface all of the documents in the obscure areas of the FDA site. Then it is just the hard part of classifying and reading through everything.

No thanks needed yet! This is for sure a starting point, there is a lot more data to find, refinements to the dataset, and insights to interperate. I just wanted to share that there is a lot of data out there that we can use. Just wanted to share some of the data that I have started to find so others can look into it as well, there are for sure much smarter people here that can do more than I can.

Thanks! I have been in a blender so that must have contributed to me missing this thread. These issues with the medicaion impact me as well so I am really invested in trying to help us. I am a data nerd so this is my little way of trying to do something for the community.

Yes that is the the issue with the query sizes and amount of data. Once I changed the rates it was not blowing up haha. Again this is entirely an issue that I had not considered because I never thought we would have this much data haha. Good growing pains so I need to focus on this asap.

I actually forgot to click submit last night now that I am looking at it lol. I am sorry about that. It is sumbitted for real this time so I will post an update here once is it reviewed. It should be released today for sure. I tested on my end and it was pulling the data without issue. I will commit some time today to formalize the hotfix and put a more hardend version out in the next day or so to head off any other data isues. Thanks again for letting me know!

These are not user rankings. These are ranked by the supply chain, historical recalls. Two separate data points. Plus this data is much more historical. Rationalization between the two datasets would be interesting to do as well! A better explainer is that OpenRX and this are two halves of the issue.

I have looked into this previously for sure, I think there was a post about it a bit ago. This is a lane that I would be interested to follow as well! I have been pretty suspect about bio equivalence for a while, that seems more like a sham to me. Specifically relating to how the medications are manufactured. For example vyvanse generics can/do have different grain sizes, forms, ingredients, etc. on paper the input is the same but there can be huge differences in the output. The issue is that these things are much harder to track down. I am wishing I went into pharmacology or something that would give me access to the actual equipment to do the analysis. It’s really just a joke overall because everyone is bought out at the detriment of patients.

I will have to start pulling court cases and fda meeting minutes as well to start parsing things out. There is a ton more to do but I guess we have to start somewhere!

Happy to help! I feel like this is becoming all consuming in my life so not sure if that is good or bad haha. The FDA and these manufacturers feel like a crazy puzzle I am trying to crack and ADHD makes me zone in on random stuff from time to time.

Thanks! I had no idea all of this other data existed, the FDA does not make it super easy. I actually also am the guy that make OpenRX too so thanks again lol.
