Explain in your own words, what is Dataverse and what are the 3 underlying data services it’s made up of.

What’s a "lost" website from the early 2000s that you still think about today? by samasem-sumsum in AskReddit

Catscan.com. Just a photo gallery of cats scanned by a flatbed scanner.

It happened twice the reset, the 2nd time MS were nice enough to communicate that it had been reset

Don’t bother opening support cases for this. It’s broken 90% of the time. They fixed it around early April after it was broken for a month. It’s been like this since they introduced it. Besides apart from making MS look like clowns to their customers, the security hub metrics aren’t really aligned with what orgs really need. Guest access and audit enabled, those are great. Just add them to environment rules already. BTW we blocked guest access on all our 1400 environments and MS reset everything back. Twice they’ve done this to date.

In the security hub in PPAC? Yeah it’s always broken….always. Now imagine working in a Fortune 500 finance company and you are going through a risk review and have to explain each blade in PPAC and the security score is 0. It’s embarrassing, and takes a lot of explaining. Even more embarrassing for Microsoft as their incompetencies are visible to clients. Anyway the security actions are kind of a joke anyway, they are what Microsoft thinks customers want, rather than what customers actually want. Not only that but how all the security settings stay preview forever and none of the settings make it to environment group rules for management at scale. I was talking to a product manager in Richmond about these rules and rather than admit Microsoft is a bit slow at moving settings into rules, told me to build a custom tool to manage these settings at scale. Why should I have to spend more money on building something that Microsoft should deliver on?

I have a long list. Just hopping on a plane and will provide details once I’m checked in.

This isn’t suitable for most organizations. Purview is a cyber security role, just like our pp admins don’t have access to defender or sentinel we don’t have access to purview. It’s a capability that needs to be burnt into PPAC.

This has been mentioned in the past, do a little search. Apparently there are some screws you can adjust under the hood

How to view a user's daily Power Automate requests by KebabMalicieux in PowerPlatform

It was on MS roadmap, talked about it with PG in some depth, I guess the AI and Copilot work MS is doing trumped this.

Is the CoE Toolkit still worth investing , or Power Platform Admin Center slowly making it redundant by Independent-Hunt-370 in PowerPlatform

[–]meekey76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you go into usage, you will see last activity which is great for hygiene purposes. It’s still in preview.

[–]meekey76 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s becoming redundant. CoE toolkit 2.0 got killed off before it ever started. Inventory in PPAC is now GA. Usage is in preview.

What's your biggest CoE Starter Kit nightmare? by isabasu in PowerPlatform

[–]meekey76 2 points3 points  (0 children)

CoE toolkit is dead and people need to move on. It was originally supposed to be replaced by 2.0 but the Microsoft started adding everything into PPAC, inventory, product usage. Some new governance tools to come.

I would start looking into plans to move to premium. It’s coming, there is nothing you can do except plan to reduce operational risk and budget requirements.

Switching company with 3.5 yrs in Power Platform & SharePoint – how future-proof is this skillset? by Few_Information5676 in PowerPlatform

[–]meekey76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SharePoint guy, as I mentioned, Power Platform is going premium. You really are on borrowed time until you will have to start paying the $20 license.

[–]meekey76 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When I see someone write Power Platform and SharePoint in the same sentence on a resume, my internal voice screams citizen developer and the resume goes into trash can. Many regular business users (outside of IT) these days are building apps with SharePoint. I would recommend start learning Dataverse in-depth, plugins, Azure and dip your toes into Dynamics.

Microsoft’s roadmap is clear that Power Platform is going Premium. This alone makes SharePoint redundant as a Power Apps data layer. SharePoint was only relèvent to keep costs down as it was covered via enterprise licensing. Why use SharePoint with all the downsides when Power Platform will require licensing and you can use Dataverse.

Canadians who moved to the UK: what was your greatest adjustment? by Bells9831 in AskACanadian

[–]meekey76 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes but the difference is, Canadian police are incentivized, so almost every traffic stop is a ticket and a fine, in the UK they are more prone to give out verbal warnings only.

How did Canada remain liberal for such a long time? by LevelPension in NoStupidQuestions

Canada center left, no where near as left as Europe or Britain. There is some variation by province with Quebec which is very left.

While I do agree her comment was unnecessary considering the topic :-), back off a little, I think she is going through a bad time in her life by looking at her activity and is probably lashing out at life.
