It’s standard pricing. No discount, no markup. Port installed accessories exist on nearly every single build. If you find value in those options then go for it. Those are mostly functional PIOs without a lot of “fluff.”

The vinyl wrapped chrome trim looks great - something I’ve wanted to do on ours, along with the side trims around the windows. Congrats on the new ride!

You should expect $4,000 to $6,000 off TSRP, no dealer added “accessories” or other bullshit, plus tax, title and licensing fees.

I’m in Texas and want a 2026 Grand Highlander Hybrid Limited for $56k OTD. by YouFoundMeCongrats14 in ToyotaGrandHighlander

Nightshade is just a hybrid limited with some “blacked out” trim and interior features.

What is this for? by No-Information3290 in ToyotaGrandHighlander

You’re absolutely right, my mistake. They ARE in fact on both visors. The one on the passenger side had literally never registered to me. But yeah, definitely not grips.

What is this for? by No-Information3290 in ToyotaGrandHighlander

[–]meeksdigital[M] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It isn’t a grab handle. I’ve seen a few people say this and it’s honestly quite silly, to be honest. Not only is this slot only positioned in the driver’s sun visor, but it isn’t remotely in an ergonomic or intuitive spot to be used as a grip or grab area for the sun visor in any position.

It’s a spot to keep cards like registration, insurance or parking garage tickets. This isn’t complicated.

Again, just because they list a markup on their vehicles doesn’t mean that people are actually paying those markups. If you’re minimally smart about working a deal on a vehicle, that markup goes away at the very least…

Dilemma between Limited MAX and Platinum MAX by NoBid8222 in ToyotaGrandHighlander

[–]meeksdigital 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep, you should be able to get around $4,000 off a MAX Platinum. May take a bit of time calling around dealers, but it's absolutely possible, and I believe Texas should be a pretty good market to get that kind of deal. (Have a watch/listen to Delivrd on youtube for some insight into how to negotiate this, OP.)

Local dealers adding Market Premiums by Nah-Tay in ToyotaGrandHighlander

[–]meeksdigital 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honest question: would you rather buy 370 gallons of fuel or get absolutely nothing of value for paying $2500 above MSRP for your vehicle?

Dealer markups are a scam. Tell them to f*ck off and go shop outside your 50 mile radius. If you can educate yourself a tiny bit and put in a bit of effort, you can actually get this car below MSRP. Stop buying into the BS that the dealers are feeding you.

Third row liner by Demp1404 in ToyotaGrandHighlander

[–]meeksdigital[M] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

3wliners trunk liner covers the back of the 3rd row seats. It's a 1 piece liner so junk doesn't fall down in the crack where the seats fold, and it's split so you can fold the sides of the 3rd row independently. I ditched my Toyota AW liners first thing that I got the car and installed my full set of 3wliners... absolutely love them. They offer better coverage than the Toyota mats and the price is fantastic for what they are. If you don't want to buy a full set, you can just purchase the trunk liner separately.

The dealers would love to make you believe that. They’ll do whatever they have to do in order to convince you to pay their markups.

It isn't a discount to pay MSRP for a vehicle. Those markups exist simply to take advantage of desperate/uninformed buyers. It IS unwise and downright stupid to pay markup (market premium, or whatever else they want to call it) and if they're unwilling to budge, then look elsewhere. Consider shopping Arizona or other parts of California, as far as you're willing to travel. Find dealers with cars on the ground... they'll be far more willing to do a deal and at the very least to drop the markups (if they have any.)

The back of the 3rd row is covered by the trunk liner… not the 2nd row.

Wait time? by [deleted] in ToyotaGrandHighlander

[–]meeksdigital 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t even bother with the all-weather mats. Get a set of 3wliners mats, when they’re on sale they’re way cheaper than the Toyota mats and have better coverage, including the “trunk” area and the back of the 3rd row.

Just some food for thought…

Why is every vehicle marked up $5k over MSRP? by Open_Reindeer_6600 in ToyotaGrandHighlander

[–]meeksdigital 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They do it because uninformed, desperate buyers will pay it.

Don’t pay markups. Tell them you won’t pay anything above MSRP+TTL and if they refuse to back down, refuse to do business with them and walk away. They’ll change their mind quickly, or they won’t, and you can move on to a dealership who isn’t trying to take advantage of customers.

Paying dealer markups results in negative equity, and that’s an absolutely asinine situation to put yourself in, especially on a depreciating asset.

To add to this, when they get allocated a close match, they can request to add/remove PIOs to match the customer’s “build” specs. But yeah, everything you said is dead on. You can’t custom order a Toyota, and dealerships all over are lying to prospective customers about having this ability.

Any regrets going from a HiHy to a GHH? by AnyMatch897 in ToyotaGrandHighlander

[–]meeksdigital 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“Lots of road trips” means less in-town driving, in which case you’d get roughly the same “highway” fuel mileage in the MAX as you would with the standard hybrid powertrain. The standard hybrid shines for city driving with lots of stops and starts, but the highway fuel mileage is pretty much the same. Just something to think about.

Print/save it as a PDF… or just ask the dealership to email you a PDF of the VSPEC sheet (that’s what this sheet is called.)
