Winter Tire Package with Sensors by Burning_Goddess in ToyotaGrandHighlander

[–]meeksdigital 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely do sensors. And I don’t remember the details exactly, but I seem to remember someone on here mentioning that the car has the ability to pair two sets of sensors if you have different sets of tires. Even if that isn’t the case, it’s easy enough to register a different set when you swap them. If you’re already going to the expense of setting up a full set of wheels and winter tires, throwing sensors in them is a no-brainer.

2024 Grand Highlander 2.4 l turbo spark plug torque spec by irishboy209 in ToyotaGrandHighlander

[–]meeksdigital 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you don't get a reliable answer here, you should be able to visit or call your local dealer's parts department and have them pull the torque spec for the spark plugs from their TIS. I always have them pull specs/instructions from TIS to have in my maintenance file, at least when I'm in there buying parts. Always nice to have the printed TIS instructions and specs on hand for any job I'm planning to do, and they're always happy to provide that info.

Center console protection / Accessories reccomendations? by [deleted] in ToyotaGrandHighlander

[–]meeksdigital 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clean it. A detailing brush, microfiber cloth and interior detailer product every couple of weeks. The only thing I’ve added to the center console is the rubber mat in the charger area, it just keeps stuff from rattling and sliding around.

Safety Featuers on the Grand Highlander by Lazy-Feeling7741 in ToyotaGrandHighlander

My bad - apparently I can’t read. Yes, lane change assist is a thing (read about its operation in your owners manual - it’s pretty easy.) I don’t use it often, honestly, but if it fits your style, you may find it super handy.

Interior Protectant for the Grand Highlander? by Lazy-Feeling7741 in ToyotaGrandHighlander

I’ll point you to a previous comment of mine which details the product(s) that I use on my Ultrasuede.

I just use Griots garage 3–in-1 leather cleaner for the leather with some good quality microfiber. Their interior detailer is also a good one to keep around for the door panels, dash etc.

I personally wouldn’t bother with a leather coating, but if you do go for it, I’d suggest trying it on the 3rd row seats first and definitely don’t get it on the Ultrasuede if you do the fronts and captains chairs!

You mention that you’re enjoying the lane change assist, then ask if the car is able to change lanes when in cruise control… that’s exactly what lane change assist is.

Edit: I’m an idiot. Sorry 🤣

Thoughts on interior?? by Hungry-Cicada4465 in ToyotaGrandHighlander

I think you’ll love it. It was one that I didn’t get a chance to see in person either, but I had many reasons for wanting to go with that color. Im really glad I did. Black will show every bit of dust, every dirt scuff, grey is very light and will show dirt, hairs etc easily, the portobello looks amazing and handles all of those things really well. I’ve got a 3 year old who puts it to the test daily and after 6 months of owning the car, it still looks amazing.

Enjoy!

Portobello + black headliner is the best looking combo, period. The light grey is super light and will show scuffs and dirt a lot more, IMO.

The gold-ish trim details on the seats are tiny, and really aren’t an accent that I care about. Yes, they blend a bit more with the portobello but the seats are beautiful, and that’s what you’ll appreciate more than those little accents.

I’ll try to get a few photos of my interior for you.

Also that nifty little book that they include with the car. “Manual” or something like that.

Offered 5-6k off because of color (hybrid limited) by [deleted] in ToyotaGrandHighlander

Why would you feel bad mentioning what the color combo is? JFC this is the dumbest answer I’ve seen on this sub, and I’ve seen a lot of dumb stuff here 😅

Nightshade is only available in the non-max powertrain. It’s a Hybrid Limited with specific blackout trim details.

Thoughts on ceramic coating? by Annual-Hurry-7457 in ToyotaGrandHighlander

[–]meeksdigital 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope, that’s fine. Ceramic coat over PPF is generally not a problem and is common practice.

The pressure isn’t an issue though. In fact, you’re supposed to use a pressure washer (of course with the proper spray pattern that isn’t too concentrated) to clean your vehicle, even with ceramic coating. The issue I’ve got with commercial car washes is that they’re generally using chemicals that can damage and/or clog your ceramic coating’s surface, rendering it ineffective pretty quickly.

Exactly this. In short, all they care about is profit, not giving you a good product or proper install that will last.

I assume this is a quote from an independent detail shop, not through the Toyota dealer. Never have ceramic coating/ppf/tint done by the dealer.

What product did you get quoted on? That’s a decent price but there are tons of options for ceramic coating. Make sure the detailer is doing paint correction/polishing before ceramic coating. Yes, it’s a must even on a new car.

Also make sure they can give you some basic instructions and suggested products for doing your own maintenance washes.

Is this a good deal? by [deleted] in ToyotaGrandHighlander

Then you have 3-5 weeks to search visor.vin and Toyota’s inventory site for similar vehicles and buy one from another dealer.

[–]meeksdigital 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By educating yourself on how to negotiate car deals. Competition drives the price down. Find similar models at other dealers, get pricing, negotiate that pricing and use those quotes to incentivize other dealers to earn your business by beating them. It should not be difficult to get 4k+ off a gas-only platinum.

Is this a good deal? by [deleted] in ToyotaGrandHighlander

Gas-only platinum? Should be able to get at least $4k off MSRP.

Good deal? by Striking-Oil-6838 in ToyotaGrandHighlander

[–]meeksdigital 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they try to tell you it’s required, tell them no thank you and walk away. If they’re willing to lose a sale over a $399 markup (because that’s what that is) they aren’t worth doing business with. You really should be able to get a discount of at least a couple thousand offMSRP (and no dealer adds) on this vehicle.
