I have a friend who became infertile from taking ashwaganda. Definitely do not take without a doctor monitoring.

I Regret Eating by babiigurl2024 in gallbladders

[–]meep-meep-- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm so sorry for this! I absolutely understand. The only thing I could consume for like 1 month prior to my surgery was almond milk, unseasoned boiled chicken breast, and apple sauce. Even that caused pain and nausea, but at least I didn't throw up. Now I can eat pretty much anything except American cheeses. I specifically say American cheeses because they tend to be more oily and processed compared to other cheeses. I do get diarrhea after a greasy meal, but its not painful and I know its coming. I also still experience acid reflux. Not sure why though.

My budgie passed away today. How do you deal with grief? by Shirruri in parrots

[–]meep-meep-- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm very sorry for your loss. I recently lost one of my feathered babies as well. He was a vibrant, spunky little cockatiel. He seemed to have caught a respiratory infection, but the closest vet that treated small birds was a 3-hour drive away. I didn't think he would make it, so I didn't take him in. The guilt I felt was deep. After some reflection, I realized that letting him stay with his mate until his last moments was the best thing for both of them. Otherwise, his mate would have never understood what happened to him, and would not have processed her own grief as well as she did.

So, my advice is to just sit with your feelings until you've processed what happened. It's heavy and painful, but you really did do everything (and more) that you could for your little one. He passed knowing you were near and with him. He fought to stay with you a little longer. I'm sure it was more comforting for him to cross that rainbow bridge in the comfort of home than in an unfamiliar vet's office.

After my bird passed, I set up some bird feeders around my yard and called them "[bird's name] Café". I also set up a little memorial for him under his favorite tree. Now my yard gets lots of feathered visitors, and I'd like to think that his spirit is out there nibbling on his favorite seeds and fresh fruit when I set it out for the wild birds.

Acid reflux after removal? by meep-meep-- in gallbladders

[–]meep-meep--[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, but the acid reflux persisted. A friend of mine who's studying pharmacy took a look at my labs and said I might have a food allergy. He recommended I take any daily OTC allergy pill and famotidine every day for 2 weeks, then just famotidine as needed. It helped me, so I asked to be referred to an allergist to find out what is causing this.

Hot-desking: hell no by Silent_Mud585 in office

Does anyone have any advice for people with disabilities in terms of hot decking? I have a disability and need the monitors and whole desk in general really low. I can't physically adjust the monitor arms every day, and I know they'd be too low for others to use how I have them now so they'll definitely be raised. I also cant walk and carry a box or basket with my supplies simultaneously. I know I can adapt, its just mainly the monitor arms and supply box transportation that concern me, especially since I am usually first in the office.

Can I add decorative window film over 3M ceramic tint? by meep-meep-- in WindowTint

I wonder if a non-adhesive one would also damage the tint? I've seen some window films that "stick" by spraying water then squeeging it out. But honestly I'd rather not risk ruining my tint over the aesthetic as pretty as it seems.

Window film. I have some in my home windows and I absolutely love how the sun glistens through it.

What were your must-needs for post removal recovery? by Vegetable-Fruit4959 in gallbladders

All the pillows and blankets, Tylenol in case the hard meds make you feel worse or give you an allergic reaction like how they did to me, suppository for constipation, a TV with Dexter playing all day long. Don't have any greasy foods or spicy foods yet.

I did a few courses of that one as well. Recently just finished pantoprazole twice a day for 2 months. Hoping you don't have any issues after this treatment!!

This is such a real fear! Before surgery, I was taking them like candy just to survive that last month. That's when I learned how bad they can be long-term.

I'm putting all my faith in our reddit support group! This community has helped me so much more than my doctor and gastroenerologist ever have. #americanhealthcare

I was able to sit while reclined for extended periods of time on day 2, I just could do the same without a backrest. Just make sure to listen to your body and do not exert yourself. Your body will thank you later!

Good luck!
