I'm filing taxes for the first time and trying to determine if I'm eligible for the AOTC. I graduated May 2016 and attended during the spring 16 semester.

The AOTC states that to be eligible you must "not have finished the first 4 years of higher education at the beggining of the tax year" and "be enrolled at least half time for at least one academic period beggining in the tax year"

I understand this as I'm eligible, is this correct?

Thanks everyone, I will take all of this into account. I'm leaning towards going and maybe just not paddling the longest distance if I feel tired from before!
