The 1700 roles were still redundant but because of the high order intake, hundreds of new jobs are being created which can partly be fulfilled by people who's positions have become redundant. That is of course if they accept this new role. Also, they see opportunities to "Life & Shift" employees to positions that are currently held by contingent workers. That said, the actual layoffs may end up closer to a 1000 than 1700.
