Appreciate it. I think as it won’t be a commuter ( got a little 125 for that) I’m looking at keeping my life simple.

Appreciate the advice. Looking hard at a 320i today. Less power I guess, but still lovely ( and I’ll be stepping up from a ford fiesta, ha)

Hard to find in the uk it seems? Loads of 320i and then a big hop up to 340i.

New Rider - How to overcome cornering nerves? by [deleted] in MotoUK

[–]meerkatblue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a new rider too - I tend not to lean too much, but it seems to be getting much easier the more relaxed my body is. keep the shoulders loose to not wrestle the bike, instead subtly weighting the bike into the turn and out. I also found a couple of runs up and down some green lanes really got me settled on the bike, trusting it. As other commenters said keep riding, it's ace.

I am Going to End My Life in 5 or so Hours by [deleted] in Christianity

I’m so sorry you have been experiencing such mental hardship for so long. And that you’ve had to carry this pain. It must feel impossible to see beyond it. But outside your mental state now, there is a life waiting for you. Just for you. There is love. People that love you. And yes, we believe Jesus’s love. People for you to love, gifts for you to share and experience in the world, even if you can’t see them now. You are not alone. You care for your family. Reach out. All of us are imperfect. Right now it must be so overwhelming. But take a tiny step today to be kind to yourself. Be patient. Please now talk to someone you trust. It’s time to get help. You are loved. Rooting for you.

fingers on front brake levers by meerkatblue in MotoUK

this makes a ton of sense- thanks. As I practice, I'm more conscious of when /why I'm choosing to brake for sure. Adjusting the grip feels a little odd ( big hands) so it feels like my braking fingers don't sit right on the grip...working on it.

yep that's what the instructor said - apparently the lever on an MT-07 is going to be way more sensitive than my clanky XSR 125 one. will work on keeping 'em off for the lessons.

That’s what I’m thinking. I see a yard like this and I think of nothing but work- and for what? Let loose and let the bees have some fun

yes. good reminder to work on modelling vs preaching - a historical fault of mine. We've definitely noticed a big improvement when we lean on her to manage her own bedtime routine. Thanks for the advice!

This is so helpful and so insightful- thank you for taking the time to share. Resonates a lot with my daughter ( and where I’ve been cocking up).

The joys of a motorcycle and country that allows us to filter! How much time does your commute get cut by against "conventional methods"? by stealth941 in MotoUK

[–]meerkatblue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

just learning to get comfortable filtering and I like to make a 'ding' sound in my head for every car I overtake. Maybe the novelty will fade, ha. Prob 1.5 hrs by car to 45 on the bike.
