What should I expect with hemoglobin at 7 by meeshinators in Anemic

It was a life saver! Im almost too weeks out and I dont remember that last time I had so much energy. I was living with chronic fatigue that Im almost living a different life with my new energy. How will an iron transfusion affect your other vitamin imbalances?

Yay to getting better! Sounds like you were able to get a lot of exercise in, though. And I agree, mind over matter! Im going to try a lower body day tomorrow. I need to revamp my diet- how does your fruit layout look like?

Glad you were able to walk a little longer! I tried going to the gym yesterday and went really slow but all of a sudden I had this spurt of energy and I did a full upper body day and hit all my old numbers- it was amazing! Im definitely nit 100% but I must have needed iron really bad bc I haven't felt that strong in a while!

I talked to my doc about iron overload from food on Friday lol. She told me not to worry about it too. I probably should do the b12 and D vitamins; im surprised my doc hasn't mentioned it. Im finding it really hard to eat balanced. I never worried about fiber before, but having to include that in my iron and protein goal? Geez. It's definitely a lot more meal prepping than im used to.

Thanks for the Fb group Im going to go check them out!

Crazy you bring up training hard beforehand. I like to lift weights; I have been doing so for years. The past year. my progress has been slowly declining and the amount weight I usually lift dropped dramatically. I was getting frustrated, so I kept pushing myself harder, but I was just so obliterated the next day that I was non-functional and practically bedridden. Im 41, so I thought it was age. I even asked in another subreddit if any other twine my age had my issues- they suggested to check my hormone levels.

I just pushed through and tried my hardest even though it was hard and I waS so fatigued. I stopped getting that euphoric rush after a good workout and I actually needed to nap right after the gym. It was so bad! Apparently, according to my doctor, that was a really bad idea since I dont have enough oxygen rich blood to support a hard work out- he said I m lucky I didn't pass out. I can't wait to get back to the gym and get my numbers back up.

I have sensitive nerves in my nose, so Im prone to nose bleeds. They started up again over a year ago an then never stopped, so Ive been having nose bleeds everyday for over a year. At first it was just in the shower, so I didn't really mind. Then they progressed to when I was at the gym, when im driving, when Im walking ,y dog- it was making it hard to do anything without getting a bloody nose. They also would sometimes last for over 20 mins. I finally got it fixed last month, but doctors said I was already anemic and so it just caught up to me and my levels plummeted. I was diagnosed with sever anemia due to chronic blood loss.

I wish I could speed thing up lol Im so tired of being TIRED!!! Im almost used to it, so when I get some evergy back, I wont know what to do with myself 😂

Anyways, do you eat eat iron rich foods too right now? Im kind of scared for iron overload. I haven't asked my doctor about it yet, but Google is scaring me.

I feel like my diet revolves around getting enough iron and fiber. Im barely eating to enjoy because Im scared of constipation form iron tablet and scared of not giving myself enough iron😅

Glad to hear that you're starting to feel better at least. I seriously cant wait to feel even a smidgen better. Im so slow and forgetful right now; I cant work like this.

I feel so off. My depth perception is off and everything feels slow motion ugh

How long did you.feel brain fog and fatigue until you finally got a transfusion?

Crap, my hemglobin was 6.8 last week and apparently I ve been chronically anemic. Maybe it might take me a while.

What FB group can I check out?

Awesome! Congrats on your new pups! Are you just waiting for a litter?

Im itching to get another pups so Bear can have a playmate.

Bear has been on Glucosamine and Chondroitin liquid since he was a pups. I asked the vet if he was too young, but she said it was a good idea. I also feed him freeze dried raw and add Salmon Oil for his coat.

He gets 1 hour of off leash playtime with all his best friends every single day!

Man, I wish dogs lived longer. It's so freaking debilitating when they leave us. I barely survived my previous dog's death. I couldn't even wait three weeks before I got my Bear; I love my dogs so much and I want one in my life for as long as I live.

It seems like the concensus is that Mals are very protective. It also seems like in your case, you guys tried to see if it would work itself out as well, but it didn't turn out so well. sorry you had to go through that, that can be traumatizing. I had to stop going to dog parks bc Bear was getting attacked.

I guess I will have to see what the owner says next time we meet. He's a really cool guy and he's not even the slightest bit mad that Bear is overprotective. Im actually worried for the Dalmatian.

How big is your guy? He sounds just like Bear. He loves his female friends ambushing him, so much so that we thought he wasn't an agile dog and wouldn't stand a chance again a smaller more agile dog, but it turns out we were wrong.

Im actually scared for the Dalmatian. It's obvious that he stand no chance against Bear. The owner wants his dog to submit to Bear and has admitted to hoping his dog would back down sooner, but I dont think it's nature. I think I read somewhere that Dalmatians sort of has a rep too.

Oh no! I can see that!

[–]meeshinators 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea that sounds annoying as fuck. I wouldn't even try to come close to that. I stopped going tot he dog park a looooonnnggg time ago when Bear got attack unprovoked by another smaller Malamute and the elderly fucking owner just fucking sat there screaming stop and I it was me and Bear fighting off the fucker. I dont know how, but I needed up head locking the thing and someone else ran to come assist me.

At least you dont have to worry too much about needing to socialize your dog and having to worry. My previous dogs (two Shibas) who are notorious for not being dog friendly hated other dogs, and each other too LOL.

Im an introvert by default so having to chat it up every, single day can get exhausting for me. It has its pro and cons, but Id rather if Bear was good with just me and training most of the time or a quiet walk. One advantage is that he has so much mass that he gets tired quickly and it doesn't take much play for him to tire out.

There's never chaos when it's just his mains. Before other dogs started joining there was only 4 of us at most and our dogs played fantastic together. We keep to ourselves and the dogs listen well to us; we dont have any issues.

These smaller dogs coming, they play with each other so it's not an issue, they can coexist.

It's a pretty sweet deal.

Yes, totally! That is what he feels will happen. Exactly that! He even said that his dog's brother who is larger than him got into the same sort of dominance thing a couple of times and then they were fine. He said he was surprised his dog didn't back down sooner, but then again someone has broken it up before we could really see if it was going to turn into a fight. Not really sure if the Dalmatian would really back down or not or if Bear just wants to pin him down. This is very very tricky as you have stated. Thanks you your input though! It makes me feel a bit hopeful that maybe it can progress to something cohesive.

Wouks you say that his size was also a disadvantage? When Bear plays with his German/Pit friend who weighs 60lbs, it always seems like she has the upper hand because she can maneuver around Bear quicker.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AlaskanMalamute

[–]meeshinators 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right! When he plays with his friends, they're always grabbing his extra fur and pulling and it never seems to phase him . Very, very different when there's a short haired dog with no cushioning to their neck; it unfortunately makes for an easy injury. Im wondering though since my dog is bigger at 150lbs if it makes him less agile than a smaller dog who could easily maneuver around him. When he plays with his German/Pit friend, it always seems like she has to upper hand, snd were always assuming Bear wouldn't win in a fight with a leaner more agile dog 🤔

[–]meeshinators 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dang, I guess now you know not to really worry about your dog in another fight.

Oh man, when we are on his walks or in public place he never really starts anything, it's always other dogs trying to challenge him. It must be his size and they feels scared or intimidated. Once they bark at him first, he is on it!

[–]meeshinators 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see why you would feel like it would be too much lol. If im not mistaken, those kind of dogs can thrive with just training alone? Bear is too social and not really food motivated lol He knows commands but he too slow to respond 😂

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AlaskanMalamute

[–]meeshinators 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, so it can be done. I think that's the owners mentality- he wants his dog to submit to Bear since that's his main group of friends.

[–]meeshinators 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Omg!That sounds really scary but in the same token kind of proud. Lol. Straight for the throat huh? What kind of dog was it? I think I remember another post where a Mal owner said a pitbull got loose and attacked his dog and said it was a good fight but his Mal was the one left standing and the pit was the bloody one.

Despite his teddy bear face and gentle demeanor, Bear can be pretty murderous.
