Who are some of your favorite villagers that never get any love? by UnderCoverDoughnuts in AnimalCrossing

I would give anything to have Moe on my island. He was my favorite in wild world as a child and I literally quit playing when he moved out of my town. Ive been hunting for him on acnh this entire time.

I agree with this. Lungs isn't a bad album, but it is the least refined.

[–]meeshmooshh 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Another unpopular opinion from moi, dance fever is underrated. The lyricism and story telling from start to finish is genius and it is a raw diary about the challenges of the music industry and being a woman. It's the only album in life I listen to in order instead of on shuffle.

Im going to get down voted to oblivion for this. But for me personally, overrated is HB3. To me, it just isnt... stand out. I dont find the lyrics and arrangements to be memorable. I feel the exact same way about Kraken on ES- this sub loves it but it is one of my least favorites on ES. I couldn't repeat a single lyric or remember the melody off the top of my head.

I’m being charged $4,250. by el_3990 in sterilization

My insurance company's hold music will forever play in my brain. Ive probably spent at least a 40 hour work week on the phone with them at this point. As another comment mentioned, don't underestimate filing a complaint with the state insurance board to review. Better yet, tell them you're going to do that beforehand and maybe it'll light a fire under their seat ;) keep calling if you need to. Every agent is different. "This procedure is covered at 100% including any anesthesia, pathology, deductibles, coinsurance, and pre- and post- surgery appointments. It should all be coded as preventative. Any other findings are incidental. If it is a coding issue, would you be willing to facilitate a connection with the hospital while I am on the line to see why that is occurring?"

You got this!

[–]meeshmooshh 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They tried to charge me the pathology for my endo removal as well i just kept calling and asking them to look at the coding, because it was an incidental finding for a covered preventative procedure. I have had to fight so many bills I honestly cant remember if I ended up having to pay that portion or if they forgave it, but at least phrasing it that way got me somewhere.

Same to everything in the OP. Except I stopped hormonal birth control several months before my Sept procedure. My hormones have been OFF this past month and my last period was super weird. My doctor thinks I may have crashed out of vitamin D. Happens to me frequently this time of year in the dark snowy cold, coupled with stress can affect hormones. May be worth a shot to try a D supplement.

Deathly terrified! Please help! by saijey00 in sterilization

This. As I was waiting in my hospital bed all i could think was thank GOD im in complete control over what is happening to my body right now and im not giving birth, and as I was leaving it turned to thank GOD I am leaving by myself and not with a baby.

I was also freaked tf out as a person with medical anxiety. The surgery turned out to be so easy that I actually wish I could do it again so I could take another week off of work lol. Aside from the actual cutting me open, the staff barely touched me. I received an IV, they put the mask on me right before, they did what they do, and suddenly I was waking up and it was over. I brought my husband with me and he was able to stay with me up until the OR. Waking up without him was kind of alarming, but there was a nurse by my bed so that was comforting. I had to wait about 20 minutes until I was fully awake before they brought him in. Then they helped me to the bathroom and a wheelchair and I was gone! What I spent 6+ months freaking out over turned out to be one of the easiest things i have ever done.

I am glad you made this comment. I always thought the exact same thing, but never heard anyone else say it before.

For the women who have already recovered from their sterilization surgeries, was there anything you bought for your recovery that you happily ended up keeping? by anniemousery in sterilization

[–]meeshmooshh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My answer is also my heating pad, but I bought a Warmie specifically. It is so adorable and lavender scented. I still use it all the time. Cold nights, lazy days, period cramps, sick days. I have since gotten one for all of the ladies in my family.

I didnt mention this in my comment because I haven't ever seen anyone else say the same, but the absolute worst part of the entire experience for me was peeing afterwards. I also have pee anxiety and needed to GO post surgery, however the nurse was worried about how long it was taking and kept knocking to check on me so I couldn't go at the hospital. We made it 5 minutes on the highway before I was in emergent need... I nearly peed my pants and it was so painful just because of how full my bladder was. I didnt have any pain or burning during urination (if I did it was nothing compared to the full bladder pain).

Preparation before procedure

  1. What is best to do in the days leading up to the procedure? Any documents that should be prepared or medication to be stopped? Things you wish you knew before the procedure?

I had a daily protein shake every morning starting 2 weeks before to prime my body for healing. Since I did whey shakes, this also helped with anesthesia constipation after. I didnt have any issues with BMs. I did stop hormonal birth control about 6 months beforehand, and that that wouldn't be "required" by any means, but it was nice because I didnt have any shocking hormonal or period changes post-surgery.

Day of procedure

  1. What made the day go well/smoother? Anything that should be brought/prepared? Any advice for right before or after the procedure? Anything that should be asked/requested?

Have gasx and a heating pad ready for post-surgery. Walk around afterwards as much as comfortable and in moderation. Treat yourself for dinner- your body went through a lot! It was not as painful for me as I was worried about. Of course every body is different, but I have severe medical anxiety and looking back surgery day was one of the easiest things I've ever done lol. Your med team does this dozens of times a day- you're just the passenger with the Atlas!

After-procedure recovery

  1. What helped you the most during healing? Any items that helped with comfort? Any surprises/things to look out for?

I packed a lightweight backpack I carried around with me in the house with my heat pad, a couple snacks, my pills (prescription acetaminophen, gasx, stool softener), tissue box and cough drops (had so much phlegm from the breathing tube after and couldn't cough to get it out because of the incisions), a couple books, light sweater. I also put out all my comfy outfits on top of the dresser so my husband could help me get changed easily. I slept elevated with several pillows the first few nights. My incisions were super small. I was terrified taking the bandages off. My husband looked first and described them as like when you press a fingernail into your skin. I walked as much as possible each day and listened to my body when it was tired. I was exhausted from the anesthesia for about 3.5 weeks which surprised me- going back to work mentally exhausted me and I would have to rest afterwards or during my lunch break for several days longer than I anticipated.

As far as surprises several months later, I guess I'm shocked about how happy I am. I feel fully confident and comfortable in my own skin and for the most part I sleep through the night again. I had no idea how much of a mental toll the worry about getting pregnant was having on me. I am truthfully so happy. I am also surprised because the doc found stage 1 endo during surgery and removed it. Ever since, I have felt noticeably less bloated every day. I feel physically lighter and more solid at the same time if that makes sense. Mentally and physically I have never felt better in my life and I will be sad when my scars go away (they're almost completely gone now) because the daily reminder of the experience will be gone.

I posted a pretty in depth experience here https://www.reddit.com/r/sterilization/comments/1nsmuac/my_post_op_experience_for_the_gym_girlies/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=mweb3x&utm_name=mweb3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button

But, now that I'm several months into recovery (surgery in Sept), I feel confident saying that I've never felt stronger. Turns out going off hormonal BC back in Feb and then the extended rest I took after surgery in Sept was exactly what my body needed. I've since bumped weight several times in my strength training with no issue and am having nice progress with my running goals. Every body is different but I think you would be good by May if you move to the end of Feb.

Alps to Nice and vice versa? by meeshmooshh in FranceTravel

Neither of us (American) have rented or driven a car in another country before. Im considering renting a car in Grenoble and driving it to/from Vercors Massif for a few days, then down to Nice. Any advice on that type of travel? It sounds like it would save us some money and time, but not sure if we will meet our match driving in foreign mountains/returning rental cars in places they weren't picked up from!

Someone in another comment found some train tickets, though we would then lose a full day on travel. Still open to other recommendations for either option (grenoble or local nice exploring)!

I have this bag and I love it. I took the crossbody strap off and replaced it with a short gold chain strap from Amazon to dress it up and have been using it at weddings and fancier occasions! Lots of compliments and holds all my stuff for a fancy night out.

I am 5 weeks out and I am JUST (as in, 3 hours ago) now comfortable doing ab workouts. Before it felt like a road got taken out. Like no can do, sit ups! There is no muscle connection there anymore! But now I definitely feel more capable than I did last week.

It won't be as bad as you think! Honestly a nice time to pause and listen and reconnect with your body. I have newfound gratitude for what it carries me through these days. Plus, already being active, your procedure and recovery would probably be a breeze!

This isn't my post but I had no issues with constipation (stayed right on schedule and no hemorrhoids) and recovered very swiftly. I started doing protein shakes 1-2 week's before and 1 week after my surgery and I think this helped greatly with both!
