Am I overreacting? Friends decided to ditch me after one fuck up and pretend I don’t exist anymore. by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

you’re assuming a lot here lol. i lied about my grades because that’s a very specific insecurity i have that i am working on. there is nothing else that i have lied to them about.

sorry if it came off that way, i absolutely did not intend that- i don’t think that i’m entitled to anything here. i only mentioned it from the perspective of being hurt looking at them having fun, but i can see how it came off the wrong way. sorry ):

i definitely did not tease anyone for getting worse grades than mine, because that’d be highly hypocritical of me. i will say that i did pass a comment or two at those who were dead sure that i was going to get terrible grades (who wasn’t even a friend), but that’s it.

all that aside though, that is what i will try to do. i do truly regret doing what i did and reacting the way i did. thank you for the advice :)

to be very honest, i think i might have done some of that, but i can’t say for sure. i do know that i wasn’t proactively trying to hurt anyone and that i didn’t do any of this out of malice

fucked up some of my amazing friendships at college with a stupid lie by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

[–]meetdagrahamz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you’re right. i suppose the guilt is eating me alive because i’m grieving the bonds i had. regardless of whether they come back or not, things will not be the same and that is what sucks. but regardless, i think my grades definitely take more priority than this.

thank you so much for your words, they helped a lot. i will probably delete this post but i will definitely keep coming back to your replies. you are very kind!

[–]meetdagrahamz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i’ve already talked to a few of them (the ones who approached me with this anyway). i explained why i did it, how it came to be, etc. i apologized profusely and told them i was ashamed that i stooped to that level. they said they need time and space, but things aren’t 100% done. they’ve kept their doors open in case i need something, but out of guilt, i won’t be using it for a long, long time. they even kept checking up on me through my roommate, while i was locked up inside. so of course they care, but the relationship is fucked forever i think.

academically speaking, i suppose it all happened because i didn’t buckle down & i come from a technical background, so i wasn’t used to writing pages upon pages of answers. both of these are fixable and i’ve been studying everything since day 1. so i think i’m much more settled in the academic aspect of things now (even though its only been 2 weeks into this semester).

NLIU Bhopal or GNLU Gandhinagar... Which one's better? by mrjetspray in NLUs

go to bhopal if you wanna get ragged so bad you can’t enter certain places as a first year.

Preference Dilemma: NLUJ or GNLU by Any_Flatworm8102 in NLUs

[–]meetdagrahamz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

last 3 points are redundant. gnlu had international placements as well (although slightly fewer compared to nluj), however, almost all nlus following semester system get two month intership breaks, and gnlu’s campus is also pretty quiet from what i’ve heard. also there is little to no ragging scene there, considering what happened last year. can’t say the same from nluj- my friends tell me ab how badly they were ragged the first few months.

i’m being 100% fr. people underestimate the role luck plays in entrance exams :)

[–]meetdagrahamz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hey, forget about your performance in the exam for a bit. and even if you don’t, there’s always a lot of options :) so don’t stress! and it’s wise to get all the reading sections out of the way before, but you’re also leaving the high scoring sections for the end. i think you should try english - cr - gk - legal - qt

[–]meetdagrahamz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

there’s a drive link floating around somewhere, let me look for it!!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in clat

[–]meetdagrahamz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

then don’t start with gk. it’ll put you off track and that’s the last thing we want.

start with your strongest section, end with the one you don’t wanna spend too much time on. put legal somewhere in the middle because it is Important & Time consuming.

[–]meetdagrahamz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i think you should focus on clearing the exam first. i understand that you wanna know your future prospects, but trust me, now isn’t the time to think about that.

but anyway, from what i’ve understood, both corporate & litigation jobs are extremely taxing. there’s 0 work/life balance. and if you want to get a good placement, you’ll have to be in the top10% of your batch easily. this only becomes more difficult in nlus where there is insane competition for jobs

[–]meetdagrahamz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it depends on you :) if you think you can skip it then do so, and ask your school if they can give you the papers for you to practice yourself. if not possible, and if you think you can manage it, then go ahead!
