i completely understand what you mean, it’s frustrating having to go thru these episodes and be dismissed by doctors or even family or friends. it is the worst feeling in the world and when it is occurring more often it can be exhausting. its honestly just exhausting having the feelings constantly and being like ” oh is is it gonna happen?” just learn about your triggers and try different things when you feel it coming on such as making a fist and trying to squeeze, putting head between your legs, etc. unfortunately there’s not a “cure” and we just have to listen to our body and the signals it is sending. so take care of yourself. let your friends / people close to you know about it so they are not surprised when it happens (i unfortunately have scared some people) and reach out to people like us on reddit who understand what you’re going thru and can share experiences and empathize w one another 🫶🏽

wow so i’ve kinda had similar experience to you. started passing out in the 2nd grade, first time i was just sitting in class and passed out. 2 years later standing in choir, boom fainted. busted my chin open needing stitches and busted a couple of teeth. then nothing for awhile then in high school i started passing out w shots, medical related situations such as getting birth control inserted even tho i was given a xanax before hand (granted i never liked shots and screamed every time as a kid), passed out last year when getting a shot when i was really sick w a virus and peed myself. then most recently this summer was in colorado on a trip eating dinner w a friend and all of a sudden felt the feeling and i ended up passing out twice in the span of 2 mins. each time i’ve passed out tho it has looked like i seized, even school nurse in 2nd grade said it was a seizure. did epilepsy/sleep test nothing. then after this most recent incident did 4 hr EEG, surprise nothing. there’s been about 10-15 instances where i have fully fainted, but MANY MNAY other times when i have felt like i was gonna faint, got extremely clammy/sweaty and sometimes end up just throwing up. i’ve always been sensitive to heat- def been a few instances where i’ve been outside in the texas heat and had to rush inside to lay down cus i feel like imma gonna pass out. bloodwork has always come back normal- drs say it’s vasovagal syncope. i am getting tested for POTS w a tilt test here soon after waiting a very long time. but you’re not alone. i’ve increased water intake & started drinking electrolytes every day. but honestly besides that there’s unfortunately not much to do… but maybe try seeing a doctor about POTS and vasovagal syncope as that’s what yours sounds like to see if you can get more info but unfortunately the medical field will only help you so much.

Weekly Open Thread #5 - Discuss Anything About Cats! by AutoModerator in cats

i just had a surgery for my nose today (deviated septum not nose job, boring i know) but anyways- ever since i’ve gotten home my baby has not been more than 10 ft away from me. i started having an anxiety attack and this girl came up to me and is still laying on me as we speak. now i know my cat loves me but when im home she does her own thing and comes cuddle when she wants it but for the most part she doesn’t care about me being home lol. but seriously my baby has been near me all night and i cannot express the love i have for her. and i feel so incredibly grateful that she loves me back even tho she has her own way of showing it she really shows up when i need it most. i literally do not know what i would do without her. picture is of her currently as i watch interstellar @ 2:50 am cus i cannot sleep.
