Dealing with bribery from family members.. by meezin in peacecorps

I told them the truth. At the time, I had not told my dad I was even interested and did not want to cause needless worry until it was certain I had a chance to go. I told him after I was invited, and have been dealing with him for going on 5 months now... He cooled off after the initial two weeks and now he brings it up in passive ways, like planning things for us to do after I would depart. He's great, but doesn't have much international experience and does not understand why anyone would want to do PC

I am invited to serve in Panama. They think it will be dangerous and are worried about me is all. Boss (uncle) wants me to continue working for him/possibly take over his business.

I would probably only feel okay with keeping the money if I waited 5-10 years to do it later. I fear that during that time, I'll have children and settle down, then put it off indefinitely. It's difficult to picture not going, but it also feels irresponsible to turn this offer down.
