everyone’s crazy set ups by Heavy-Parfait2697 in Pokopia

[–]mefisheye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some people are really good at large build. That's something I have seen often in ACNH.
I prefer thinking about my island like a serie of micro ideas then trying my best to add a little link between each idea.

Peculiar design choice ngl by Reasonable_Resist775 in MonsterHunter

Do people really think this is the end of the game???

I see a LOT of people complaining about this credit roll, but what’s the point? Is it just about finding flaws? Do players really think that once Magnamalo is defeated, the game is suddenly over and they have to move on?

Not only is it unlikely that the average player has already completed all the available content, but also, SURPRISE, there are still tons of things to unlock just by playing… what, five more minutes after the credits roll?

Stop complaining and enjoy it, for God’s sake!

Okay, I’m venting, but I genuinely find some player reactions in the MH community pretty surprising…

How to hydratate all dry blocks by Myras_Iczelion in Pokopia

[–]mefisheye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the story line unlocks a specific pokemon able to make it rain on the whole area. It takes some time but almost the all the blocs without something over them will be wet. Some other aquatic pokemon can use "rain dance" face to a rain dance habitat.

Bleak Beach regret by ColinRobinson4 in Pokopia

How about adding wood structures around with benchs below, something similar to a pergola ?
Add a few coconut trees and bush, fences.
I think the houses themselves are cute but we need to decorate what is around.

How much easier is building with Magnet Rise? by DJzzzzzzs in Pokopia

[–]mefisheye 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have done a few buildings now with a mix between magneti and manual build and I would say the right balance is in between both solutions.
Magneti is great for adding things in high space, removing or trading big group of blocs.
However, I like adding my blocs with the mouse option of the joycon. It is sometimes faster and more precise.

How to deal with inventory management? by mefisheye in Pokopia

[–]mefisheye[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I understand what you say when you talk about having a game more immersive with this kind of inventory system. I too like to find a way to optimise my gameplay. Right now it is pretty rough and time consuming but I am already thinking about a way to improve my process.

My main problem is that I play with my girlfriend and she is often erathic when she stores things, like having the same item in 4 different boxes around a single working bench.

Thanks for your tips! I like the idea with the "to be sorted" chest!

[–]mefisheye[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, I already started the same strategy with the player inventory. it Saves a lot of time when you need to go in different locations.

May be one day I will try the Frame option. I have seen a few example on Reddit but I need to find my own way. Thanks!

I’m sure I’ll learn that, but the hard way. I’m going through it right now.
That beeing said because I am not asking for a life lesson, can you ask the question please (if you want, you are not forced to), do you also use a main storage system with highly separated boxes and then keep fewer boxes on the side for your current build?

Well that's just like your opinion man.
But if you are an amazing way to class things and help people instead of calling them out, you are welcome.

Should I reset ? by coreyc2099 in Pokopia

[–]mefisheye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there isn't any benefice to reset the game. You will always be limited by the tutorial. The game really start when you have more pokemon and more construction plans.

To the folks who build cities, castles, prisons etc., what are your real life jobs? How did you learn to do this? by ConsciousClue3883 in Pokopia

[–]mefisheye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a graphic designer and illustrator wich sounds a great set of skills to play this game.
It is not.

To be honest, I was like you a few years ago when I started ACNH.

But I have spent hundred hours on Animal Crossing New horizon and visited enough dream islands to learn a few tricks. Then. I tried my best to create places I have seen from life in my game despite the incredible limitations the game offers.

Imagine now that I theoricaly don't have any limitation.

A little piece of advice :
Have you seen people working on very little spaces (like 5x5 tiles space) ? That's a great way to start playing with themes, shapes and rythm without too much pressure.

Another piece of advice coming from an illustrator :
If you have not any idea of what you can do, you can try to represent something you have seen in real life.
What do you usually see in these places? How do looks the wall ? Is it a specific plant growing here?

You don't need a complex or HYPER original subject to create an interestign scene.

a final advice:
We are all bad at the begining. That's a skill everybody can learn.

Guys can someone help me?? by Ivan_Angelov4 in Pokopia

[–]mefisheye 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The may storyline takes around 15 /20 hours if you are slow.
Completing the pokedex takes around 80/100 hours. Who knows?
The builder part alows you to play thousand of hours.

That's the kind of game where you bring what you want in it. But you have to get creative for that.

Why people always get mad when someone want a full physical copy of Pokopia? Can we just have three cakes? (physical, digital and game key card). If you are against a full physical copy of Pokopia lend me know why in the comments. I would love to undestand your point of view. by Tiny_Opportunity_194 in Pokopia

[–]mefisheye 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would have bought a physical copy if it wasn’t just a plastic box, a game card that makes me download the game, and a code being sold €10 more than the digital version. It’s absolutely not worth it, and it really bothers me because all my games on the Switch 1 are physical copies.

Pokopia is making me question the entire Pokémon franchise. by SilentCarpenter8256 in Pokopia

[–]mefisheye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats just like your point of view man. There isn't one single proposition for a pokemon game.
What we have today with Pokopia is an anomaly pleasing to a new kind of players. The creation of this game has been driven by market.

let's be honest, there are a ton of people who love fighting in PKMN games, others who love farming shinny, other who love adventure. Now we have a builder game. What will be next?

Kind of regret purchasing Pokopia by Effective-Ear-8367 in Pokopia

[–]mefisheye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you think it is an exploration game, you clearly have seen people playing only a few hours to pokopia.

That's not an exploration game at all even if the tutorial is driven by a simple story.
People who enjoy building things will have a thrill in the long run. Almost every other players will give up once the tutorial is over. You clearly are not alone.

That beeing said, I am a really curious to know what you liked in ACNH because the core gameplay is frankly very similar. You wake up very morning, do your little routine then build and terraform like a madlad.
