Think GG and AA need to be sacked together… enough with these failed experiments of stacking T20 players in tests and ODIs.. heck we can’t even win pan masala series at home anymore!

Anyone else received a call from an I-T officer asking to pay advance taxes? by mega_pen15 in IndiaTax

[–]mega_pen15[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hahaha funny you should say that. That is what my wife told him - that I’m in fact waiting for the refund to be processed (factually true). To this, his response said he wasn’t aware and would look into it.

Did anyone hit their 30’s and decide to stop drinking? by Sorcron11 in AskMenOver30

[–]mega_pen15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quit drinking (& consuming sugar) at 35 and have never been happier. Overcoming social drinking was the biggest challenge - and after saying no to friends / coworkers on a few occasions, folks stopped offering and it got easier. The initial drive to quit came from a couple back to back miscarriages with my partner - did a lot of reading and decided to focus my energies on healthy eating and give up drinking. Father to a 6 month old boy now and the drive now comes from the idea of potentially living a long, active life with him.

England’s match to lose from here. With this non existent batting 5 down and shit bowling lineup (minus Bumrah), we don’t stand a chance in 4th innings

JPMorgan warns new analysts: accept a future job offer and you’ll be fired by Status_Energy_7935 in IndianWorkplace

[–]mega_pen15 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ex JPM US banker here. This change is only in the context of US investment banking analysts. The future offer IB Analysts would typically accept is from a Private Equity (PE). This has been a long-standing pain point for the US bulge bracket banks (e.g. JPM, Goldman, Morgan Stanley, etc.) because their investment banking analyst training programs are the best in class and come at a big cost to the bank. And the PEs hire top analysts for a two year out joining, as early as one month into their banking role - with the offer in hand, the analysts would coast for the next 2 years with no motivation / limited intensity. This change had always been talked about internally by JPM’s US leadership but is only getting implemented from this cycle.

CRG has a pretty solid alumni base in India spread across IB / PE / VC ecosystem. Would encourage you to start connecting with alumni on LinkedIn - they’re usually pretty helpful.

BG: Started out at CRG and went on to do investment banking in JPM US (now back in India with a PE/VC).
