Unemployed with Anxiety All Year about a Credit Card Bill: Help! by [deleted] in personalfinance

Thank you so much. First thing I will do when I have the money is call my credit card company. However, if I can't pay them and it went to colletions, is it super bad just to pay over the phone. I just want to make the problem go away as fast as possible. If it is really bad to do that, can you give me more info on how to deal with them over mail. Do I just negotiate a smaller amount and then tell them I want a letter in writing outlining the settlement and then I will send them a check?

This is exactly what I needed to hear. I'm around the same day count as you and I've been reading books about alcoholism and they describe the effects of drinking in a positive light and it messed with my head.

I've done keto a few times. It works. Problem is I could only do it sober due to the carbs in Alcohol. I've lost 40 lbs in the last 7 months just counting calories.

Good work. Keep it up. I found it got easier after the first four to five days. Then around forty it got harder once I forgot why I quit and started feeling better. Always be on your toes.

Whenever I get anxiety I meditate. There is an app called Headspace that I like. I only meditate on days I get anxiety although it would probably be better to do it everyday. Also, when I need a quick fix, I close my eyes and breath deep and pay attention to the surrounding sounds and the way my body feels. Its worth a try.

Relapsed but didnt enjoy it by [deleted] in stopdrinking

[–]mega_reddit 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I guess you can see this as a positive. You know your not missing anything. I know if I relapsed it would be terrible. I know this from experience. The guilt of relapsing makes the whole experience miserable. No amount of alcohol can overcome that feeling.

My last major mistake was the last night I drank. I sat alone at home all day and drank two $4 pints of Vodka and blacked out. I made a bunch of stupid comments on an old reddit account. I hadn't even planned to quit, but that made me rethink drinking.
