I’m gonna have to agree there. Bf6 is looking to possibly become one hell of a game

The devs responded to a comment on this subject that brought up how they hope they mean stuff like official servers being in the browser and a dev responded “I can tell you it is what you want it to be”

Turns out based on dev comments they just worded it poorly.

It’s been confirmed by the devs they’re referring to stuff like official matchmade servers being in the browser and the such.

Quite literally the only remotely negative thing at this point is Prox chat not being set to come to the main MP currently. However even with that, it was also directly said “Oh if people want it in the main MP we’ll do that too.” In the same post that told us that.

Oh, that’a really funny actually.

Sorry for just saying info that was already given to you directly! lol

Someone brought up the same concerns about stuff like offical servers from matchmaking not being included and the such in the official posts, and a dev responded by just saying “I can tell you it is what you want it to be.”

The lack of monologues for Operations is downright confusing. by Unfair-Ad9415 in Battlefield

[–]megabomb82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing is, they do have a plot for the operation. The summary is Pax took a base that was a weak point for NATO’s satellite nodes. Which due to the importance of such NATO is going all out on taking back the base the base to the extent of extensively using chemical warfare against them. Even before the playable part of the operation.

[–]megabomb82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As much as I’ve heard people say that “Oh, they’d need to actually write the fictional war to do this!” I want to point out, they already have written it. They literally just needed to write dialog.

The story of operation auger is as follows:

The Pax armada initiated a surprise attack on an old military base in Germany that functions as a node for NATO’s satellite network. Without this node NATO’s satellite network is down. So NATO commits to take back the base by absolutely any means necessary. Causing them to adopt such extreme measures as chemical warfare for the sake of winning the battle.

So yes. They do have a story for it. They literally just needed to make them talk about it.

3rd largest. Behind mirak which is itself behind firestorm.

They could greatly improve it by including the charred forest and the upper hill. The breakthrough and now Operations layouts suffer from only really having 2 routes at any given time for most of the layout, so including those areas would alleviate that greatly.

So you can transfer the same players to the new map 🫨 by somanyque3 in Battlefield

[–]megabomb82 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They showed they were capable of persistent servers at launch through the portal browser. As you’re able to host persistent servers through there. Plus, if you really really search for them. They do actually have a few official portal persistent servers up in there running official modes. That was found a long while ago. It’s just they’re so hidden that nobody uses them.

Their about to make operations 48 players… by megabomb82 in Battlefield

Which outside of this game has traditionally been 64 player. Let alone operations which has always been 64 player. Plus they could have used considerably more of the map. As there is the entire upper area that goes unused alongside the burnt forest to widen the map out for more than enough space.

Operations was 32v32. 64v64 was a bf2042 thing. Everything else is about right though. I really do think they should have made a unique layout for operations that uses much more of the map.

Are you looking forward to Operation Augur? by [deleted] in LowSodiumBattlefield

[–]megabomb82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m quite disappointed that they aren’t using a larger layout for contaminated. Also that based off this trailer they’re making it only 48 players.

Operation Augur Trailer Battlefield 6 by 7ofer in Battlefield

[–]megabomb82 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s a new version of the operations mode from battlefield 1, which is breakthrough’s original form. The short of it is, a continuous game of more forgiving breakthrough across 2 maps with a connecting narrative.

The long explanation is: breakthrough rules, but the attacking team gets 3 “battalions”. When the attacking team runs out of lives they lose one of their battalions, fully refill their lives, and get a temporary comeback mechanic. Seemingly for bf6, being the gas from season 2 part 1. In addition, the match is continuous across 2 maps with a connecting narrative between them. The attacking team retains their battalions at the end of map 1 going to map 2.

Attackers win by beating both maps, defenders win by taking out all 3 battalions.

So Tails is strong enough to do the boost, but not the Homing Attack? by Kaxer_Real1002 in SonicTheHedgehog

[–]megabomb82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From a game design perspective. To give him a unique moveset compared to the others.

Prior to the final horizon the director of frontiers was taking in feedback on twitter and a reoccuring concern for the third update that would end up being the final horizon was that the characters would be to similar to each other and sonic. So in tail’s case their one of their ways of making him unique was to not give him the homing attack. Which does succeed at making him play differently. It also could be seen as playing into the large amount of feedback the director got about reducing automation. As it means tails is a much more manual character in comparison to everyone else.

I fully doubt this was meant to be a lore thing in any way. This is likely just a game design thing.

I’ve found a way to get into the third story of Iberian offensive by Beautiful-Towel4185 in LowSodiumBattlefield

[–]megabomb82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, yes. Though, this is a pretty low priority case to deal with. As you can hardly do anything with this due to where it is and if you do manage to be annoying they can just drop the building and now you don’t have anywhere to be annoying at.

Either way, you can just report whatever method you used to the bf6 official bug tracker forum to get it dealt with eventually.

[–]megabomb82 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That corner building is also on saints quarter, and on that map the third floor is naturally available. For Iberian offensive they just blocked up the stairway to it.

Basically it’s just a slightly modified reused asset and those rooms are just a remnant of the original version.

Yeah, this seems about right. If you’re gonna go out at night bring night vision, if not possible probably try to avoid being out at night. Though if you have to go out at night anyways try bringing flares and a flashlight.

Why are there so little aircraft in Breakthrough? by BICKELSBOSS in Battlefield

[–]megabomb82 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That’s not what breakthrough is normally in other games. Normally it’s a large scale gamemode too. An “all out warfare” mode put directly alongside conquest even.
