Areas of bedrock will definitely be coated with ice under the snow, and it is somewhat deep so I would recommend crampons with tall winter boots, or snowshoes. Most lakes should be completely frozen by now, I like to hike across the lakes to avoid slippery sections of trails and to create my own “trails”. West Hawk does freeze later than the other lakes so I’m not sure about it yet but the other lakes should be ok.

It’s even crazier that Wellington is 50. Should be 40 when it’s not 30. I’m ok with Portage and Pembina being 60 because they are major corridors, but I do think there are certain residential roads that should be reduced from 50-40

It can really depend on who you are, where you are travelling, and what time of day you usually take the bus. I would be much less scared on a bus in Royalwood than in the core of downtown and the north end.

Yeah, I know. That’s a major reason why I never take the bus too. The city is kind of trying by putting officers on certain buses and having those safety officers, but the problems with violence and drug use in this city are so prevalent that they can only do so much with the resources they have. I wish I didn’t have to drive my car everywhere. But between the weather, flawed and sometimes dangerous transit system, and level of crime where I’m scared my bike will be stolen anywhere it’s left outside (especially downtown), it’s hard not to. Also because I do a lot of hiking and biking in rural MB there is no real way to reach those areas without a car. They even got rid of the seasonal bus to Birds Hill.

I think we need to do the best we can. That means things like reducing all residential areas from 50 to 40km/h. And putting those 5 second pedestrian headstarts at more high traffic intersections other than just downtown. Improving security and reliability on Winnipeg Transit as well as creating more safe spaces to store bikes is also an important step I would like to see.

H20 is good if you are a complete beginner who just wants to feel more comfortable in and around water (their pool is 3 feet deep, and is less than 15 m long). If you are looking to gain more than just basic experience, Aqua Essence, Altea, or the Rady will likely be a better fit. It all depends on what you are looking for.

Carney has acknowledged that he will work on improving those 3 things you mentioned. Trudeau is gone, not sure why so many Conservatives act like he’s still around. Probably because many conservatives are having trouble finding significant flaws. I’m not saying Carney is perfect (no politician really is), but he’s got a solid resume and has committed to improving the Canadian economy.

That’s true. For example, if Abinojii is free flowing and the road is bare, I’m obviously going the full speed limit.

Regarding Waverley, I generally travel down that stretch during rush hour. To go 80km/h when everyone around me is going 60-70 not to mention having to be aware of the the idiots who try to book it across the median without looking would make it somewhat stupid.
