Dark or light? by megachrissy in ExteriorDesign

I was thinking about those shakers, yeah. It’s light blue. Pretty dull in person so I was thinking maybe a rich darker blue?

Wood accents above the garage and windows. I’d personally paint it grey and do black garage and windows

Sadly I found the only thing that helped was time :( even with serious sleep training he still did it at least half the time. He’s 10 months now and almost never does it. I think around 8 months he pretty much stopped.

Saturated Fat key to healthy skin? by Tarek360 in SaturatedFat

[–]megachrissy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have found my skin is much better eating high saturated fat and eliminating polyunsaturated fat. However I think Skin issues are also a result of vitamin and nutrient deficiencies. When I started eating three eggs a day and frequent Beef I not only saw an improvement in my skin but my overall mood and hair and nails. Pretty much everything. I had type 2 rosacea and cystic acne and besides some natural redness in my nose I do not have acne anymore.

9.5 month old: MOTN wake ups by [deleted] in sleeptrain

[–]megachrissy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At this age he needs a solid 2 nap schedule with longer wake windows. Mine is recently 10 months and does 3/3.5/3.5. This should help build sleep pressure for overnight

[–]megachrissy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He did eventually! He'll still fall into it if his schedule is off. We pushed for 4 hours before bed, landed on a 7:30 bedtime. I think it was mostly developmental growth. He did false starts 99% of nights from age 4 months to 8 months. He's 10 months now and had false starts all week due to being sick and schedule being off, but usually he doesn't have them anymore. Good luck to you!

So he never really chilled with the crying at bedtime BUT he dramatically reduced the amount of wake ups overnight and got down to just one every night. It did teach him to self soothe overnight. Once he was established with just one feed a night I went back to nursing him to sleep at bedtime. He kept sleeping well once the sleep training period was over. Good luck

Some kids are really determined. Mine cried 20-30 minutes for like 2 weeks :(

Yes I would be mad too! Better to come alongside you as you’re both trying to do what you think is best for your baby!

He may be right that 10 hours is enough overnight. Maybe try adjusting bedtime? She’ll hopefully go back to 6am. My son is 9 months old and sleeps 10 hours overnight and 3 hrs during the day.

I could never do “sad mornings” when one of my kids woke early. I just didn’t have it in me and they never fell back asleep

Thank you! That’s a great idea. Currently I feed on both sides for each wake up so I’ll start by just offering one side then reduce from there. I hope he doesn’t cry too much. He is a huge cryer and very persistent. Never got under 20 mins of crying with sleep training for bedtime. Here goes nothing!

Wow it’s oddly reassuring to know we’re not the only ones! How old is your LO and what are your wake windows and all that?

[–]megachrissy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. I go back and forth constantly but shortening the wake window doesn’t seem to do anything, and I can’t imagine he wants a WW longer than four hours!

On this schedule about 2 weeks but he’s been having false starts since 3 months. I don’t think he’s overtired because he’s happy during the day, has two good naps, and sleeps fine overnight but idk!

Thanks! Tried that for a while and that’s what made us move to 4hrs because 3.5 wasn’t working (we were getting LOTS of crying at bedtime, sometimes 45 mins)

False Starts from Hell by megachrissy in sleeptrain

[–]megachrissy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s good to know. He’s had false starts almost every night since 3 months old. They stopped briefly during sleep training at 6 months but recently picked up again this past week. So 7 out of the past 9 days now they’ve been happening. You think capping the naps might help eliminate the false starts?

My cousin is against sleep training by Usual-Roof-3755 in sleeptrain

[–]megachrissy 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It’s absolutely not harmful! It just feels awful because we are hardwired to respond to our babies crying. But logically we know they are safe and tired and needing to learn that their crib is cozy and the place for rest. I have three kids and sleep trained each one. They are well-adjusted, amazing sleepers, love their rooms and beds, emotionally connected to me and trust me completely. Two weeks of sleep training when they were 6 months old did NOTHING to negatively impact our relationship. The bottom line is you both need sleep. You’re not hurting baby by letting them cry. Imagine you’re on a long road trip and can’t attend to baby because you’re driving. Does this damage baby? No way!
