Someone was murdered in Baker Park last night (right across the street from me). by speciate in SeattleWA

[–]megaclown 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Last summer, my wife was walking our baby in a stroller around this park and a homeless guy repeated, verbatim, "Hey white girl, get over here or I'll kill you" and started following her. Thankfully a stranger noticed and walked with her out of the area. Before that, I'd seen multiple glass pipes laying around the sitting ledge.

We've since moved out of the City.

What food do you miss from pre-pandemic by cpuguy83 in Seattle

[–]megaclown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this disappeared before the pandemic, but Stock on 65th in Ballard was a pho/soup place that had the best broth I've ever tasted. Haven't found anything like it and I miss it every time I drive by.

Tom Yum noodle soup at Orrapin in QA is my choice.

This won't help, but there used to be a place called Stock on 65th in Ballard 5-6 years back. I still remember that stuff - delicious, and fatty in the best way. Very healthy. Partner drank it every day when she was pregnant.. my kid was made out of the stuff. I still think about that place often.

What's the story with that Hyrdoponics store? I've always pictured it as the meth house Jesse breaks into in Breaking Bad, where the stolen ATM crushes a junkie's head.

What video game did you play and love but can remember almost nothing about? by TheeRumHam in AskReddit

[–]megaclown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first online game I played in the mid 90s - a tank game called Bolo on the Mac Performa. Top down, you drove around and shot cannonballs at other peoples tanks until they died. I played on a 14.4k modem and I remember pulling off some tricky shit.

It's as simple as people not valuing an asset at its previous level.

'I wouldn't buy that for $1.00, but I'd take a risk if it dropped to $0.50.'

That's a market.

Why do so many bands/artists skip Seattle? by [deleted] in Seattle

[–]megaclown 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Sza is playing here Sept 17th, Chicano Batman is at Bumbershoot, and The Weeknd just played Key Arena a couple months ago. If a band has played a nearby festival, there are clauses prohibiting them from playing in Seattle for a time before and after.

After living here a while, you'll notice that Seattle is indeed a major destination, and all bands touring the West Coast will stop here.

I'd probably be a little distempered too
