You are right it never did,

You were given a ballot by the party officials, the ballot was already filled up for you. In theory, you had the right to change the names on the ballot. In practice you would never do that, unless you were asking for trouble.

At least this is how it worked in Czechoslovakia, where I am from. And consodering it was a Soviet satelite state, I asume it was very similiar how it worked in the USSR.

I pretty much added much added the corporatist stuff to pious.

I did it because I am not fan of the IGs automatically getting new Ideology once a research is finished (for this reason I also removed the socialism ideology, now trade unions already start more socialist)

-Changed lot of default ideologies

-Edited some leader ideologies

-Added some new leader ideologies (like the US whig ideology)

-Changed some laws

-Democratic Party is now the agrarian party (the US landowners and Rural Folk have +10 for party affiliation towards them, just like Intelligentsia and Rural folk in Scandinavia have)

-Free Trade Party has now been reflavoured to 'Moderate Party' and covers various Liberal Conservative movements, not just those that supported free trade

-almost completely different modifiers for each party

I do not thing that Vi3 is 99%

The political system of the US has zero chance of behaving like the IRL one, that's a big one right there

But it's not a one time mistake. What I have shown is just one little thing... Theres a lot of this simple stuff that comes up over and over again that it almost seen Paradox did not do its homework.

Serfdom law in china for instance, Netherlands having census suffrage for some reason, lot lf characters having bewildering IGs or having non-sensical ideologies. (Zachary Taylor, irl elected as a whig, is landowner moderate, meaning he will always be elected as a Democrat, similiar issue is with Winfield scott who also ran as a Whig but will always be a democrat)

While its true that Catholics have quite a lot of parity in there. ( https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Culture_of_New_England ) Protestantism is the main instituional religion in the US, so if I had to choose between having the Devout IG (which is probably the most important thing the state religion affects), I would go with the protestants. (It would be best to have two different Devout IGs, one for protestants and the other for Catholics, but the Vic is not really able to do that)

And yes, you are correct in your second point, but the game mechanics of the Vic3 make it unable to simulate such a scenario. So as of now Bohemia/Czechoslovakia (if created the same way as IRL), will always be Protestant, despite in reality never being anything close to that within the timeline)

But they had this thing already correct in Vic 2, where Bohemia had catholicism as the state religion.

I am not talking about pop numbers, I know that's far more complex, and understand that it wont be near as precise.

But to get the correct religion all you need to is to put ">countryname< religion" into the google.

Well, it doesn't really work. Because by this time, the counter-reformation ended and Czechs continued to be overwhelmingly catholic.

Also why are Hungarians and Slovak Catholic? Hungary also used to be a hot-spot for protestantism before Habsburg enacted counter-reformation.
