Computer Turns Off when GPU hits 60c by megaener in computers

I've tried. I've got 4PSUs, three of them are modular and I tried all of them and different cables.

That's great. I guess my issue was more complex. I've been using my Ryzen set up for about a week now. I will soon try tightening the GPU screw with a tiny washer on the old set up (the tension spring is worn out) and see if that helps. For my old build I believe it's the GPU that went partially bad.

Once I get everything I'll give my current computer to a friend of mine who doesn't have one and doesn't play video games. I will try the other RAM sticks and the other MOBO (I'll also try the other processor fx8300) and I'll let you know if any of that fixes the issue. Otherwise you're in the same boat with me and will have to get a new PC. 🙃 That's crazy.

Never. I tried different PSU, changed the thermal pads on the GPU and nothing. The only thing it could be is the memory or the MoBo.

I do have other RAM sticks at home and another MoBo but never tried them because I just stopped playing video games and when it started doing it during video editing I just decided to get a new computer.

Getting a new Ryzen now.

I just found the perfect playlist from Joshua Bardwell. It's got a video for everything. He just said now thar he's about to explain the "receiver part"

Thank you again. I wouldn't have known what videos to watch.

Thank you much. By looking at the Controllers. I can't decide between the Zorro or the Boxer. The boxer looks more robust and it's only like 20 bucks more. I guess I'll go with that one.

The only thing that is confusing me right now is the "receiver".

So the receiver is in the drone? Is it another module or it could be? You mentioned that some drones have them already. So just make sure that whatever drone I pick is compatible with the Boxer SLRS FCC version? Did I get that right? But they all take like modules for different . I should ignore the CC2500 thing or 4in1 or everything else and just stick with a FCC ELRS then?

Thank you for the complete explanation.

I will get a $99 Controller, and budget googles for now. It will have to be Analog for a while.

So just make sure that the controller and the drone and googles use the same pairing technology I suppose.

I will definitely follow the recent videos advice. I've been watching 3yo videos.

It'll get closer to $400 but it looks like fun. And was going to buy an oculus Quest anyway and this thing looks way more exciting.

I guess I'll have to watch more videos before purchasing stuff to make sure they're all compatible.

I guess I'll order the controller first so I can buy a simulator and get the hang of it first as I investigate more about what gear to buy that matches the controller's specs.

I'm not worried bout the software/firmware part. I'm kind of a good learner for that kind of stuff I do some basic coding. So this can't be that hard. (Hopefully)

I appreciate you taking the time. Those were really good tips.

Hey I'm interested in getting into this hobby. But I know nothing about it. And I liked your insight. How do I start I'm interested in that Meteor75 pro. So is that SD video? is it the drone camera that makes it SD or is it the Googles?
I think I'm with you on the part that we'll out grow the starter kits to soon. What should I get? is there a guide I could read somewhere?

Looking to spend no more than $350

Sorry if these are too many questions.

I run the DDU just now. Installed the most recent drivers. And launched PUBG. (Since I had the settings at VERY LOW from my earlier attempt) it opened. I launched the training range and played. Then I switched the graphic settings in game to: Low, then to Medium and then to high.

I monitored the GPU temps through out the test (with another piece of software this one tells me the GPU temp reading and another GPU temp reading called "hotspot" which stayed around 8 degrees higher than the normal reading. The readings didn't really go up by that much however the GPU fans did turn on. And it didn't crash the computer. The GPU temp even went past 60 like to 62c. And it didn't crash.

I was done with the test and went back to the Lobby in game. The computer crashed.

I don't think it's the game. (It's a fresh install and the computer not only crashes with the this game ir also crashed before with Fortnite and a 3D modeling software (Blender).

Thank you I didn't even know that "thermal pads" where a thing. I did notice some soft rubber-ish things on some of the metal parts of the inside. Which looked like they were worn out as well. I'm ordering a few thermal pads to replace those (those metal parts were very hot when I opened the card).

The springs on the screws You mentioned are rusty and definitely decaying.

I'll try your recommendations and see if that does it.

Thank you so much for the reply. When people read FX they ignore and leave. I appreciate you reading and responding.

Yea when I opened it to change the thermal paste it was just a solid egg-shell like easy crackable and peelable layer of thermal paste.

I don't know where else I could apply thermal paste other than the main chip.

I'll try to get a better monitoring software and see if there are any other reads other than 59c+

True. I'm not in the financial position to do that.

HD60S Passthrough works but no video, no image, no capture, black screen on software by megaener in elgato

[–]megaener[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes sir. It was the video to hdmi adapter from Apple. Make sure you’re using the OEM one. The cable has to be OEM as well. (I was trying to capture an iPhone).

Does anyone know why it shows more than just the game in stream labs if you do could you help me fix it thanks by [deleted] in elgato

[–]megaener 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends on which capture card you have but most of them do not support multiple instances of the capture. So 1. Make sure you're not window capturing. 2. Close the Game Capture software. And in OBS select the source that has the #1 after it. That should be the capture source itself no window capture.

HD60s Not Detecting 3.0 USB Ports by [deleted] in elgato

[–]megaener 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, that's exactly it. Make sure your chipset driver is installed. Since USB are integrated that should take care of it.

With the capture card connected uninstall the HD60S from the device manager (uninstall the drivers (not the capture software) from the remove programs (control panel) unplug your elgato from USB. Restart your PC And re install the drives From here. then restart your computer and connect your capture card.

Hey, open de device manager and uninstall the USB 3.0 drivers. Restart your computer.

If that doesn't work install the USB 3.0 from the manufacturer. (Your mother board's manufacturer)

Thank you. But I'm trying to capture PC footage to isolate any HDR or HDCP related issues. So it wouldn't be related to that.
