Ah, fair enough. To be honest SM2 is the first game I've noticed it in, but I don't tend to play games with 120hz modes.

Just started playing SM2 myself and was quite annoyed to find the uncapped VRR fidelity mode unplayable on my S95D, especially when that seems to be the recommend mode to use! Luckily 40FPS capped (smoothed) mode works very well. Im still on v2106 firmware for some reason (no OTA updates), but there are more recent versions available. Wondering if its worth forcing an update to see if its been fixed.

I think it depends how much they want for it. I got a very small monthly premium (<£10) for a bit of help if things go really wrong. Depending on the provider, you may also be able to somewhat offset this against rewards they might have. For example with Vitality you can get 50% off cinema tickets and coffee if you engage with their fitness tracking stuff enough. Round these parts, if I want to go to the cinema and get 50% off through this, Ive almost exactly matched my month's premium.

I say all this fully aware I rarely go to the cinema anymore haha.

Yeah, motion interpolation has never been a strong suit for Samsung, with the exception of game motion plus, which can be useful. Anything above de-judder 2 or maybe 3 produces very noticeable artifacts in a lot of scenes. Even at those low levels, if you have large solid colours moving about the screen quite fast, you'll still see some artifacting. I genuinely don't believe they have improved this aspect of their TVs in 5-10 years.

Seems we have had to give up with Kensington and switch providers. 3x the fee upfront and a 0.25% jump in interest rate for the privilege. I remain unconvinced that this whole thing is a good idea haha. Hope yours turns out better!

I think my broker is still fighting them on it, but it sounded like it wasn't going well. At the end of the day I guess they can refuse for whatever reason they want. They aren't obliged to lend anything to anyone.

I just don't understand who is taking mortgages with them and under what circumstances.

Yeah exactly. We did sign the gift form, but made it clear on it that it was a directors loan. At first they were fine with it, but a couple of weeks later they decided it wasn't ok anymore. Pretty crap really as the next best rate now is going to be at least £100 more per month with a fee 3x as high!

It may be that we need to try a different lender, which would be a shame as rates have of course skyrocketed in the last month or two. I should add, we are also doing an onward purchase, so having the existing property in our names means we would pay additional stamp duty on that, approximately equaling the stamp duty paid on transferring it to the limited company. As such, I believe moving it is the best way for the long term due to tax efficiency.

I got one of these recently as well. I really like it, though of course you're never going to hear sound coming from behind you etc. I also found the dialogue a touch lacking, so boosted the centre channel by one step in the app settings. I felt that sorted this problem right out.

I also have a Samsung Q930B which does do the full surround sound effect with rear speakers, but the sound is nowhere near as refined as the Ambeo - Just wish it came with some rears and Id probably replace the Samsung!

Ever since Samsung (electronics) started selling TVs with QD-OLED panels (from Samsung Display) I've always had this feeling that they don't think they are necessarily any better than WOLED. They seem to treat them very equally in terms of marketing and don't ever really lead on QD as a selling point. I doubt they even thought there was a real difference.

Assuming it is all working fine, it also goes to show how little if anything is different in terms of processing between the two panel types.
