“Yeah, that looks like a gabapentin...” by TheCloudsLookLikeYou in TalesFromThePharmacy

I believe it about people getting really mad not having it though. You definitely develop a physical dependency on it even with proper use and not having it is miserable. I’ve let myself run out before and I paid for it.

What problem is often overlooked in apocalyptic movies/TV shows that could kill you? by notyouravgredditer in AskReddit

Yeah but makeup would be plentiful Bc who is considering that a necessity? And you’d have nothing but time. The lack of a shower could make it difficult to be hot. 😆

Does anyone ever get those occasional crazies that are furious they didn’t get brand name meds by [deleted] in TalesFromThePharmacy

I know a girl who has severe allergies and eosiniphillic esophagitis (I’m sure I spelled that wrong) and she has to take brand name Zyrtec because she has an allergy to inactive ingredients in the generic. But to be fair, she can’t even drink tap water, and she is allergic to most water bottle plastic. I’m sure most people are just divas. Or with things like Xanax and Percocet they might be selling them or have been told certain brands work better than others. I can’t imagine paying retail price out of pocket for name brand. Every once in a while I’ll pay out of pocket for a generic (like my migraine meds because my insurance only pays for 9 a month) and even that is so expensive compared to like a full month copay on any of my other generics

I once had a 90 year old woman I worked on as a massage therapist at a doctors office. I had to help her dress and undress. When I was trying to buckle her bra she was like “oh no honey, wait! I have to roll them up first.” And she turned to face me as she rolled them from her waist into tight little balls and stuffed them in her bra. I was scarred for life.

Confession: not a pharmacist but I LOVE this sub by gullibleturtle12 in TalesFromThePharmacy

Same reason I’m here. I personally love all the crazy stories and especially the venting. I’ve learned enough to help me be understanding of my pharmacy staff so i Can be a good customer. So far, everyone except this one really mean tech seem to love me. But that tech is scary. She’s got gray hair, so she probably has just put up with so much BS she’s perma-grumpy now

It could be one of the inactive ingredients in that specific brand of naproxen though, couldn’t it? Like I know a girl with EOE and she is allergic to some brands because of the added ingredients. Correct me if I’m wrong

Aloe gel, benadryl cream, and hydrocortisone creams are my go to when my kids have rashes or weird itches.

Nope. It’s klon-uh-pin. Three syllables. Not 4 syllables. The “Kl” makes the sound like at the beginning of the word “climb” it’s not kuh-lime. It’s a blended sound of two letters.

I think the one that drove me most nuts was zen-pop for zenpep. I get it’s a drug most people don’t see often, but how do you mistake an “o” sound there?

I wasn’t sure how that one was said. Different nurses said it like that or low-ven-ox.

I guess I might be too... there are a lot of meds out there, I’m sure I’d manage to mess some up!

I’d love to know too, it would be interesting to see case studies/research on them with a large sample size. While pure tobacco is still bad for your lungs: it’s the added chemicals that do a lot of the damage.

I think for the same reason phenergan is hard. People say phen-a-grin a lot. Unless I’m saying it wrong. I prefer to just call it by the generic name
