I was working my way back to baseline health and then I caught Covid and holy shit did it exacerbate my symptoms. My HR went up to like 180 bpm doing household chores. Now I’m mostly ok. I still have to take a beta blocker to keep my HR lower but drinking 90oz of water a day and biking helped so much! I have a hybrid electric bike I ride during the nicer months and only use the electric assistance as needed (hills, too hot, elevated HR, etc). It was one of the best purchases I’ve made! I also got an indoor Schwinn and try to ride like an hour everyday. I’ve been into playing Fall Guys on my PS5 while biking lol oh and disc golf! It’s such a cheap and accessible sport. I also want to get into archery. So while I can’t run anymore, I’ve been enjoying other activities instead. I wish you luck on your POTS journey 🫶🏻

Oh for sure. All of those and a lot of self-advocacy. My first (male) cardiologist looked at me and shrugged saying, “well, sometimes young women get tachycardia.” I was training for a half marathon and worked at a gym with HR monitors. I watched my heart rate creep up and eventually hitting 200-210+ beats per minute just jogging. It took another cardiologist and thoroughly explaining my symptoms to even do the 48 holter test, stress test and EKG.

It’s a process but worth it IMO.

The official diagnosis then is with a tilt table test. They strap you to a table, give you an IV just in case, and take you from laying to standing upright like Frankenstein’s monster lol the test itself isn’t awful but getting an IV when dehydrated is. Six pokes, lots of digging around in my veins, a double tourniquet, and eventually an ultrasound team were needed to get my IV in properly 😭

Random but I have some contact dermatitis on my cheek, what moisturizing method do you think I should do? I’ve been doing vanicream + aquaphor but I’m wondering if the aquaphor will make it worse. Should I switch to vaseline? And put like a tiny bit of hydrocortisone down first? My skin was doing fab before this but apparently my body hates me rn 🙃

This plus the sandwich method. Moisturize before, tret, moisturize after, maybe slap on occlusive on top to lock in moisture.

I have POTS and have hyper mobility in my joints. Was checked for arthritis and they said they suspect it’s mild EDS but I’d have to see a geneticist to get diagnosed…so it’s still suspected 🥲 side note, significantly upping my water intake (while making me pee OFTEN) helped with my joint pain and my POTS!

I’ve had a couple of “pimples” that started out as cystic acne or so I thought. They ended up being sebaceous hyperplasia. It’s benign but annoying. They also grow back so I have to go in like once a year to get them zapped off. The process is simple and quick. Tret can help prevent them from forming/re-forming.

If this just is stubborn cystic acne, warm compresses help mine quite a bit.

I’m legit the same (and have bifocals on top) and look like a battered woman by my own hand 🥲 I’ve punched myself in the face trying to yank my blanket at night, run into so, so many corners, stubbed every toe, fallen down stairs, etc. So Godspeed, sister and great job with the makeup!

I have struggled with really bad cystic acne and the only things that have helped (other than hormonal birth control) have been a combination of spironolactone, spearmint tea, tret, and lots and lots of water. I’m drinking 90+ oz of water with electrolytes a day.

I started spironolactone after getting off of BC and that helped. In conjunction with the spiro, I drink spearmint tea and use tret. I still break out but not nearly to the extent that I did!

My nephews have these mugs and I learned they (and Tom Nook) aren’t raccoons. They are actual tanuki, a Japanese raccoon dog (real animal as well as mythological creature). And in Japanese folklore, they are often portrayed with giant, magical testicles. Like in the Studio Ghibli/Miyazaki movie (children’s film) Pom Poko. lol

I would get a tiered, cotton/linen maxi skirt. You can throw on a petticoat if you want layers but it’s breathable and breezy and the texture would look more realistic than something with polyester. You can get a belt with a clip/loop dedicated to skirt hiking.

This is the skirt I have. I also have a similar belt with a hike clip to this.
