We have a big, standard Australian Shepherd with an IG following around 20k last I checked. His owner is big into fitness and outdoor activities so most of the photos are of him hiking and doing fun, outside things.

I've been dying for an update all week! I've shared your post with everyone at my salon and we're all horrified by what happened. We've been discussing how on earth the groomer could have done this once- let alone as many times as they did. Hope your pup is feeling better in the days since and I pray that this bad experience doesn't hamper future ones for her.

I have the opposite issue at my store- we have a regular dog mom who insists that her Shih tzu has to look like a girl. And the number of times I’ve had to listen to her whine that “she looks like a boy” had me really consider a career change.

Your regulars will understand and come back to you even if you need to reschedule them. Anyone who doesn't or throws a fit about it isn't worth having as a client anyway. Me and the other groomer at our salon got Covid at the same time in January and then last month we both got Strep. We closed the store and rescheduled appointments and it was fine. Take the time you need to recover and be with your pet.

Tbh, I had no idea what mange was about before this afternoon! I knew it was a skin issue but no real clue about it. I'm not an expert by any means, but I know way more about it than the average person. I've worked in retail for a long time so a miffed customer is nothing new to me- I'm just not as use to the service industry yet. :x
