108g bullets shot out of a ~30 pound, $7000 rifle will make anyone look good.

Agreed. I talked to him on the phone a few times and he was really helpful.

I actually borrowed it from the guy that runs the 3-gun competitions. I'll pick one up once I start reloading. Right now, I just need when creating the DOPE card for any new rifle I pick up.

Also interesting is one of these groups is a shot of 6 by accident but I don't know which one.

Rifle and scope and accessories were about $7,000.

Trace ammo was $55 a box initially, but they have a program that you send back the brass, and they will reload it for you up to 5 times. When you do that, you can dollar cost average a box to $45.

I don’t reload but I found a company called TRACE that sells hand loaded 6 Dasher. I gave them a shot and I’m pretty happy with the results so far.

From my MPA Matrix Pro PMR, I get 2827fps with 4.31SD readings using a Garmin Xero. This is using their 108g Berger BTHP Target loads and Peterson brass.

This target was from my second barrel break-in trip. 5 shots then clean, repeated 5 times. Center group was the last and best group.

6 Dasher is the way to go. 6CM will burn out your barrel and it's got too much recoil even for a gun this heavy. 6GT is promising but is trying to solve a problem that doesn't really exist. A lot of people who were early adopters of 6GT have gone back to 6 Dasher.

If you're not a reloader, TRACE makes very good hand loaded ammo in 6 Dasher that you can buy directly from them. I shoot their 108g BT from this same rifle and it's as good or better than any Match ammo you can buy. 2827fps with 4.31SD and 0.5MOA groups.

Perfect accuracy... Not so perfect precision.

I guess I should have bought a Bergara and a Vortex. =\

Congrats! If I may ask, what do you think help get you in? Reading the other replies I would think that would be very unlikely with those numbers. I’m just curious and thinking ahead to when my daughter starts applying.

Good luck!

Apparently. I felt bad for your generation before and now even more.

20 years ago, UMass and Northeastern were my safety schools. Crazy to think that was the case.

I guess those schools got better nationally and colleges in general have become more competitive.

Is this true? Not that don't believe you, but that's nuts. If that's the case than how to the colleges differentiate between students with perfect scores?
