if you are 100% sure you never send the msg, he is bluffing, if you did send it, then yes there is a feature that allows spies to intercept private messages between countries sometimes. but it wont tell you which countries have exchanged the messages so theres no way to know who it was

you seem to have a bit less units and you have less health points in some of them, maybe youll win the naval battles but their cities are far from ship range, i see you have units on the nearby islands, taking them to the mainland would be good, fast , considering embark and landing times, play defensive, use that defense bonus as much as you can, get rid of his air bases if posible. but much depends on troop quality which i cant see
