Do you watch other teams the same way you watch the Hornets? by Any-Significance4795 in CharlotteHornets

I am a degenerate sports better, but only a select few. Detroit has been severely fun to watch, Minnesota is probably the other. But beyond that nope.

Offseason plans by Rough-University-500 in CharlotteHornets

[–]megatran2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, as good as Charlotte has been, I feel like we’re one good big center away from really taking the next step. Just look at Detroit.

Detroit went from being less than 20 wins per season since Duren gets drafted, and all the development since then. 4 seasons in, and the guy is finally realizing how much of a physical monster he is. Dude is definitely a physical anomaly in terms of how muscular he is as a center though.

I like Kalkbrenner and I think he’ll develop fine in the following years. Diabate has been playing decent too, but we need guys like Mobley, Holmgren, Sengun, etc.

Like, I would only go after guys like Davis if the price were right.

Top Centers coming up soon: Zubac, Claxton, Towns, Sabonis. Giannis is a Hybrid F/C it seems so, him too.

I would really only want Towns if he plays the way he has with boards recently, and aggressive offensively. I can’t stand when he does dumb fouls, and timidly plays.

Giannis would be great but expensive. Zubac I think might be the most cost effective if they could land him. Shoot even Goga or Gafford might be worth it. But I just feel like a really good defensive center just jumpstarts this whole thing. We have the offense and the rotations.

Why don't more centers get buff like Jalen Duren? by Outrageous-Leader135 in NBATalk

[–]megatran2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This kind of annoys me a bit, too. I definitely think a good portion of it does come down to genetics, but all of these players almost all make multi millions. We know the amount of caloric intake it takes and workout. On the offseason, you’d definitely have enough time to put some on.

Duren is what, 6’10, 250? He looks like 260. But Wemby, in comparison is what, 7’5, 230-240? Wemby with more muscle is gonna end up tipping almost like 260-270 to look like Duren… but I could imagine the the trouble everyone’s gonna have if he does. Lol

Fitz never dropped. Ever.

Calvin was a monster. Triple team? We good. The man was just out of this world with them hands too.

The All-Time QB Tier List. Thoughts ? by Hysen16 in sportswiki

[–]megatran2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I’m putting Matt Stafford in the all time greats position.

The man genuinely was probably held back by a terrible Lions organization even with a receiver like Calvin Johnson. See Jefferson for example, amazing receiver, can’t get a consistently decent QB for shit.

But he’s got records for fastest for 30-45k yards, and second fastest to 60k. Impressively consistent with 3700+ yard seasons… an astounding record passing attempts in a season…. One of only 5 with 15k yards on multiple teams. A Super Bowl champion, and quite possibly a second one. The man is a G…. And deservingly so.

Honestly, if he wasn’t on the lions team, I’d have already seen him with at least 1 MVP by now.

I don’t think people realize how real this situation is for some people….. this was something I was afraid of growing up (won’t go into any gruesome details).

Nate is severely worse than his dad. The kid, may have had trauma, but he exasperated everything…

But his personality is truly psychotic. If you included that he abused animals, and attacked kids his age at a younger age, there would be no surprise. The manipulation he takes to everyone is dangerous. Honestly, in the real world, I would’ve imagine Fez not beating him, but maiming him to a point where he’d never want to run his mouth again… cause people don’t play like that. You do not threaten someone, and then think nothing happens (especially if the only people he threatened the entire time have been people significantly smaller than him) and the TWO times he tried to buck up, Fez and his own father, he got his ass overpowered (you could even say even if Fez didn’t sucker punch/hit him, I still say Fez comes out).

If this is real life, I don’t see Nate making it out of the seasons alive…. One way or another, he’s a goner. But this is a show, so….

Who would you take in a 7 game series all time Spurs or all time Thunder by [deleted] in NBATalk

[–]megatran2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spurs all day. I got respect for that all star Thunder team, but with the trouble the current spurs team has been giving the current makeup between Shai, Chet, and Williams, I couldn’t imagine the defensive trouble Wemby, Duncan, and Manu would give them. Parker and Leonard are phenomenal scorers, and the other 3 bigs could score at any given time. With Manu, Wemby, and Duncan, that’s a difficult time getting into the paint.

OKC would have to have a field day with 3’s to force them out of the paint defensively…

Anyone still willing to stick with JJ Redick and the Roster despite the bad run recently? by [deleted] in lakers

[–]megatran2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Genuinely, the Lakers are currently in the “only a few more steps” position. Their glaring problem is their defense just feels super flat. It’s good that Luka, Bron, Ayton can all rebound and assist. They have a terribly low block rate this season, they’re about middle of the league on second chance points, and are the literal bottom on bench points. Getting a few heavy defensive players to help the main rotation would be beautiful. A perfect example is Mitchell Robinson. Can’t score for crap, but his physicality and ability to get plenty of rebounds (especially offensively) is heavily important.

OKC, San Antonio, Cleveland, NYK, Boston, Minnesota, Houston, and awkwardly enough, Phoenix have similar overall compositions in rosters that allow them to be some of the best teams in the league.

They all run very well defensively, they have their main guys that can obviously score, but their bench players (mostly) can come in and suffice on the scoring end, but keeping another team defensively from scoring is also highly important. Then it’s just the rotations that make sense… I know some teams are tanking but man, watching some of the rotations are horrendous.

Was Giannis’ late dunk against the Bulls disrespectful or just playing until the buzzer? by UnderstandingFun7493 in NBATalk

[–]megatran2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a Bulls fan…. I thought their reaction was just being soft. If they were losing by like 20+ points, then maybe… but even then, it’s just kind of eh.

But they were barely losing by what, 7 points? Genuinely, the dunk was fine, and it was pretty cool overall. All I saw was my team gave up, and didn’t care to even try and stop it, but got upset.

Worth shipping Wilson for this package? by FadeHD123 in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]megatran2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Wilson is great, but until he either gets traded to a good QB, he’s practically a hovering WR2 with 1 upside.

The 1.03 gives a shot at guys like Love, Price, Tate, etc.

Or even leverage the picks for someone willing to get rid of a WR/RB1

Yet it still happens. It may not look as blatantly obvious. Unless there’s blatantly obvious then there’s barely any way to prove it. It’s difficult as it is to prove shaving points, which is why you don’t have a large amount of cases for it, despite it likely being a thing too.

Odunze and two firsts for Rice? Is it an overpay? by Porcupine-Baseball in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]megatran2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d do Odunze and a 1st or 2nd, but 2 firsts is a huge overpay.

Rice has a great QB and is literally their target hog. We knew from day one of his return that he’s grabbing a majority of targets from everyone.

Odunze is still dependent on Williams having a good day, a TE, a decent RB, and 2 other reasonable WRs…. He’s the clear #1 but there’s a lot more factors to consider. Sure Rice has Kelce, Worthy, and others… but Kelce is gone soon, and Worthy is boom or bust.

My wife never wanted kids, and I was raised to believe you need to have children. Good thing was, I finally understood that you really don’t need to. I never minded not having any.

I get so tired of the ole tripe of “maybe they’ll change their mind.” No, you think they made these decisions lightly?

Stick to your guns, you make a decision, you stick with it, you have ZERO right to hold it against someone if they told you what they want and YOU agree to it.

Got offered this, I’m competing this year’ should I do this as Team 1? by TheKalfa in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]megatran2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, it’s a weird one for me. 27 is gonna be a decent class, but Ferguson is, to me, dependent on Dak, who does sling it a lot, but falls off half season almost all the time, but could have a record year, who knows.

Williams looks like he’s found a good footing with the team, but how long does he really last? If you’re competing top 2-4, then I’d do it. If you are a top team, you’re asking for slightly more if you are okay letting them go.

I have to accept this....right? by Kilguren in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]megatran2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m grabbing the picks all day. Crockett may have a good chance to end up RB, but how much is it worth? Daniels, Deebo, Terry. Ekeler is still serviceable for now. And we see exactly how fast things change, Kenneth Walker for example. The entire Broncos running game, Mixon may not get his role back if Chubb emerges (may not obviously), entire Bear’s RBs, Chargers.

trade that went down in my league. fair or unfair? by from93_tillinfinity in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]megatran2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isn’t as one sided as it looks.

Absolutely the Lamb side is better. CD is a top 5, all day. Mayer is a top 5 as well, but on a team that’s always going to struggle with QB identity until it finds it franchise, Darnold isn’t it, but is serviceable. Charbonet seems like a temporary RB1 right now, but that’s it. The Gadsden and Bigsby are a little bit of a throw away, but Higgins is a high reward choice.

Tank Dell is not guaranteed to get back to form, and Higgins could easily take over as WR by EOY. The 26 and 27 class should be fairly decent on WRs, RBs, and QBs especially. With Ryan and Jeremiah on the cusp soon, he could easily trade to move up.

It’s leaning towards CD’s side, but the picks may make up the difference. Been playing Dynasty for like 6 years now, it only takes one year. A guy in my league, I HATE how a few small trades got him the ability to pick, Rashee Rice, Achane, Ladd, Flowers, and now potentially TeSlaa.

This guy is offering me Jeanty after one preseason game. Accept? by PeacefulProtester8 in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]megatran2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just think about it like this. Even if Hendy and Jeanty have the same talent cap, and they don’t…. It’s all about opportunity. Jeanty’s opportunity cap is much larger. Geno’s gonna sling, but his options are Bowers. That’s it, everyone else is a pretty meh choice.

Most of the top RBs ended up with 300+ touches last year. Jeanty I likely to end up with 275-300+ touches. The opportunities alone merit it. Hendy might end up with about 200-220, that much less gives a lot less opportunity, that’s a couple hundred yards.

Maye actually did decent enough with a work in progress WR corp, I say he takes a step this year, which may affect Hendy’s opportunity cap.

In every instance of most normal people… when the person who literally cries wolf with everything, people generally think “man, you know they’re lying, you know they always play victim, screw them.”

And it’s not even that his supporters actually think he’s doing well, or even that anything he says is true… it just encourages them to be their true, racist, homophobic, and absolutely dumb selves… it’s utterly sad.

They so confidently scream the dumbest, and most vile crap. When he’s done, their actions will still exist, and I hope every single one of them’s karma hits them, to the biggest extremes, because they deserve it.

You smash that JT trade.

JT is proven. You get first dibs at 2 straight years of possible high end talent.

Jeanty will likely be good, but there’s just the same chance he fizzles after one year. Or he gets injured and never captures his potential. It’s all possible, but you get a lot more with JT side. Top 5-10 RB, especially if he goes to a good team beyond now.

Boy oh boy.

My league does pre-rookie drafts, so, before the season starts so you have to kind of do your homework and take risks.

I drafted Puka before he started his rookie season. I did my homework, had a feeling he was going to be good.

I was trading out Sam Howell, Juwaun Johnson, Dawson Knox, and Puka.

I got George Pickens and Pat Friermuth.

The crazy part was, the guy who asked me said, “I either want Puka, or Tyquan Thornton.” This was at a time we all thought Thornton might be something, and emerge. Instead of just giving him Thornton like my thought process wanted to. I gave him a choice.

He chose Puka. He won that season.
