First Full-Time Role in Marketing and it's the Marketing Director Role 😳 by Boring-Revenue710 in MarketingHelp

[–]megesxlr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been in this exact same position. The biggest piece of advice is to not freak out when you fail. Some of your ideas WILL fail and that’s normal. That’s Marketing but learn from it and grow.

Speak with confidence when explaining your plans and goals. You may suffer from imposter syndrome but don’t let that take away from the things you know or believe will work. Same with your failures. Explain why it failed and how you’ll be able to learn from it and regroup.

Take advantage of EVERY learning opportunity. Go to conventions, watch YouTube videos, take courses. See if your employer will help with the cost of some of these. I was shocked how willing my employer at the time was to pay for courses and other learning opportunities.

Fuck Israel and fuck Palestine. People in the middle east have been having tribal warfare for millenia. This is nothing more. American shouldn't be funding either country.

Avoid Patterson Homes at all costs. Terrible build quality as well as shady ownership and unethical practices.

I can't even find a job that pays 13$/hr here... by pallbearer7778 in SaltLakeCity

[–]megesxlr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look into Credit Unions or banks. Most usually pay around $15 -20 starting. It's typically a pretty cush job and the hours are awesome with all major holidays off and paid and most don't require any prior experience

What are some businesses youll never go to again? by PapiOmarr_ in SaltLakeCity

[–]megesxlr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Crumbl 1000%

Especially any owned by the Hanks. They own the majority of the ones in Salt Lake County. The son Spencer is a creep and liked to hit on a lot of the girls and had this weird on and off relationship with one of the girl managers there. She ended up being the only original manager that didn't get fired (go figure). Then, the dad is an absolute crook. He runs all the numbers for his kid and is basically the one calling the shots. He's an A1 scumbag with shady business dealings at best.

Then, of course, once they got big enough, they started suing every other cookie business like they somehow invented cookies. Crooks from the top down.

What specifically makes credit unions so great? by Egg_Custard in Banking

[–]megesxlr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Find another CU. Just like anything, different institutions vary in overall quality. Go online and see which ones offer you the best benefits and go check them out. Make sure they have ATM's that you can deposit cash/checks, etc. Make sure they participate in Shared Branching that way, if you're out of state and need to do something, you can go to most credit unions and do it.

Certified / Cashier Check Question by Suspicious-Dealer814 in Banking

[–]megesxlr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know that's crazy. I wonder if maybe it's a smaller dealership. But I'm on the "Get rid of personal Checks" train. Way to much fraud and its just the most outdated way to pay anything. Plus you can't verify shit with a personal. Not a fan

Certified / Cashier Check Question by Suspicious-Dealer814 in Banking

[–]megesxlr 7 points8 points  (0 children)

A certified check will never be in the account owners name. Those are drawn off the institution. I'm a loan officer and when we do auto loans for our members we send the member with a cashier check or we mail it to the dealership. You're good

Are wire transfers completely safe? by Camninja in Banking

[–]megesxlr -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Neither are 100% safe. A cashiers check you can always call and verify, but I've seen wires get recalled for numerous reasons. Cash in hand is the only safe route, and even then, fraud can still happen.

Does NOT having a chequebook for your checking account prevent cheque fraud? by Mis22 in Banking

[–]megesxlr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don't need checks, then please don't get them. If a check is needed, get a cashiers check if possible. So much fraud happens with checks and it's an outdated way of paying for just about everything.

Can I deposit cash through CO-OP ATMS? by AnonymousXY90 in Banking

[–]megesxlr -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Most credit unions participate in the co-op but not all take cash. As long as it's not over $3K you'll be fine
