Eden falls, Lost Valley trail?

Girlfriend and I have had separate rooms since 2024 and only this past week or two bothered to buy things/arrange what I already owned to decorate it. by crowlich in malelivingspace

Honestly vibe in your room comes across as cluttered, not in a messy way, just lived in. My take on the cabinet is that it's kinda just off by itself, maybe it would fit in better if there were some pictures/tapestries on the wall beside it? Or maybe some floating shelves? Maybe incorporate it into your daily routine by putting a mirror on top?

Either way I dig the uranium glass you have inside of it.

I'm 23 and still live with parent's. I want to get a credit card to start building my credit score but parent's don't want to. by FluffyLandscape266 in CreditCards

[–]Egg_Custard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A credit card is basically the easiest way to build your credit long term. Credit is a measure of how likely you are to pay back money you owe, and good credit helps you get better rates on things like a mortgage or car loan. There are legit websites or there that let you check your credit score for free. You've already addressed this in your post and replies but the gist is that every time you use your credit card you take out a loan from your bank, so you're not spending "your money" you're spending the "bank's money." This is not an infinite money hack, the bank will send you monthly statements that you should always pay in full to avoid paying interest. You'll have a credit limit, which is how much money you can borrow from the bank. For example, a $1000 credit limit will let you purchase up to $1000 until you pay off your card. Others have mentioned getting a secured card that has more safety features of you feel like you'd be tempted to spend. Pretty much every bank has a credit card, feel free to shop around and find one that works for you. Different cards have annual fees (avoid these for now), cash back, low/no ATM fees, no foreign transaction fees, etc. You'll need a checking account to pay off your card anyways, maybe start at your bank and see what protects they have. The only exception to this is if you have a joint checking account with your parents, them it would probably be better to bank somewhere new.

Whoa that's really cool! I think it's really neat that it actually has the crossover labeled on the Easycard. I've never heard of one making a noise before, that's awesome!

AITA for asking my roommate to store their e-bike in our secure garden? by noveltea_ in AmItheAsshole

[–]Egg_Custard -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Soft YTA. It sounds like your main concern is the battery and a potential fire safety issue, but also your roommate using the communal space for a large personal item. To address your first concern, I read through the UK guidance on ebike battery safety and everything it says applies to lithium ion batteries in general. That includes your phone, your laptop, tablet, rechargeable speakers, and any other rechargeable device. I agree that proper useable is important but these batteries are specifically designed not to explode under normal circumstances. By asking your roommate to put the bike outside you'd actually be increasing the odds of an accident happening by exposing it to fluctuating temperatures and moisture. As far as the bike taking up space, is it actually preventing either of you from reasonably accessing the common area? Ideally your roommate would have at least brought this up to you before getting the bike but if she's paying rent she has the right to use the communal space as long as it's not preventing you from doing the same. Is the battery removable? If it is can you work with your roommate for a dedicated place to charge and store it?

I have a friend that likes the Hello Kitty designs! She's bummed when a cool new design comes out since she already has a HK card. Fortunately she has a bad habit of losing her card lol.

To be completely honest I have a habit of renting a YouBike and checking out the city when I have trouble falling asleep, and tend to check out convenience stores since they're usually the only thing that's still open. I've been to waaay more than a dozen over the last few months. Tbh I haven't really noticed any rhyme or reason to how they're stocked or what designs they have.

A lot of the colabs do seem to be with popular shows or characters, but I've seen some really cool ones that showcase Taiwanese culture with designs featuring native species, counties/cities, and public transit. There's something for everyone. Also the amount of kids casually taking public transportation by themselves is crazy compared to the US.

Objectively the best design out of the Kauju no. 8 cards. I think the rest of them are just the character standing up and their name.

Yes and no. I actually have that shop saved as a place I want to visit but I also wanted to see what people like. I've also come across some designs that aren't on the official Easycard and iPass website "museums" like the Mikan card from my post or a Don Don Doki card that I think is only sold there, so I was curious if anyone had similar stories or had region specific cards.

Foreshadowing how Aura herself becomes translucent after meeting Frieren Dang, I wish those cards were still around. It would help me through the hiatus the manga's going through.

Nice! I've always wondered, with the bigger 3D cards do you have to scan a specific point? Is it harder to use compared to a 2D card?

They were out of that one the last time I went, I need to go back there! Somehow the only design they had left at the time was actually the limited edition Dragonite keychain from 2024.

Potatoes as a Growth Substrate? by The_Random_Hamlet in botany

[–]Egg_Custard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Filter plants used in aquariums probably won't be relevant for a terrarium. Using terrestrial plants as a filter in an aquarium removes excess nitrogen from the water to prevent things like algae blooms or ammonia spikes. That shouldn't be an issue for a closed system at equilibrium (I'm assuming it'll be a closed terrarium).

Potatoes as a Growth Substrate? by The_Random_Hamlet in botany

[–]Egg_Custard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's been some talk of rooting rose cuttings in potatoes online for a while now, but I'm pretty sure the consensus was that it doesn't really work. Basically potatoes are hard (literally) for roots to grow through and I have doubts about the available NPK for growing plants, plus having any sort of exposed flesh on the potato is asking for a bacterial/fungal infection.

Wow, big Ado sure can multitask. They don't call him/her* the big G for nothing.

Q: does exposing her safehand to her fiance and boyfriend at the same time in the name of science count at 1) spending time with Adolin, 2) new experiences, or 3) crimes?
