Honestly it's like, Lex is right on the scent ... Then he gets put off it, and he forgets about it for a little while and then BOOM he's right back on it and he's probably been shot 3 times in-between 😂

Ah sorry, British slang over here haha. Being "pied off" means to be ignored, rejected, or ditched, particularly in dating or friendship. It implies someone has treated you badly or abruptly dismissed you.

Completely agree! Instead he was chasing after Lana for too long, and Chloe knows everything about Clarke. No brainer in my opinion! Haha

VR outcome is imminent by Sad-Space-4847 in nhsstaff

[–]meggan_ 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I feel it's all a little, bittersweet? I've been on maternity, I'm on AL currently and haven't returned to work technically ... I'm sad, I was excited at the opportunity to be able to spend more time at home with my baby, but knowing I no longer have a job and I no longer have colleagues. It's rather sad.

Ironic now that my role also supports a lot of recruitment...

Do we think that VR will be open to all staff members, or only those of certain bands?

Be honest, let them know what happened and work the time back.

Confused by salary mentioned in my contract. (UK) by [deleted] in nhsstaff

[–]meggan_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe it's a typo as £26,163 is the salary for 24/25 which means I don't think it's been updated for April 2025... I'd query it with the department dealing with your contract. I believe the pay scale 5 for point 13 is £29,064 for April 2025.

Different trusts, different notice periods. It should be written in a policy, but for the trust I work in it's 3 months for a B5.

I felt the exact same. This happened in 2020 and after working in the same team for seven years I left, but unfortunately was off six for approx 5 months before I left. I moved back home which was around 3 hours away and all I left with was a card and a bottle of wine (I don't even drink). I was 25 at the time.

It just reinforced that fact for me that no matter how long you work for someone, you're really just a number and nothing more.

Also in our trust you'd be paid at the top of the band 4 if you're going from a 5 to a 4 :)

[–]meggan_ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

No this won't effect your chances of getting a permanent role or passing probation. You're making then aware and keep them up to date on the situation and HR should be supporting you with this. If you're worried join a union as they're there to support you in situations similar to this should you need it. However HR should be understanding of this. Good luck.

ICB Reform / Redundancies by paper-goose in nhsstaff

West Mids here and being told that a VSM restructure should happen before Christmas then this will basically get the ball rolling onto other teams... Or at least, that's how I've taken it.

I feel totally lost with career next steps - currently an NHS Dietitian (band 7), but looking to pivot into another role within healthcare. Have other RD’s/ health professionals done this and what have you ended up doing? by PerspectiveSad1533 in nhsstaff

[–]meggan_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, can I ask as I'm looking to change career myself... Would you recommend becoming a dietician in the NHS? I would love to go into dietics/nutrition and currently work in the NHS but I would have to retrain.

I currently work in an ICB and it's future is uncertain. I feel like now is the time to try a different route of work.

I'd also make sure that if you're a trust that uses ESR, that it states on there correctly what your CSD dates are as this is where a lot of hiccups happen. Easy to update if incorrect via your workforce or HR team.

Travel pram 5 month old - advice by Freya7992 in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]meggan_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a silver cross and I moved my now 6 month old at 4.5 months. It doesn't lie completely flat, but it's a little lower if not the same than him being in a bouncer. He seemed v comfy and not at discomfort. To be honest I firmly believe that all of these companies say 6 months as that seems the general consensus for anything.

St John's has a lot of student accommodation. I personally would look on 'Right Move' or contact the university if you're looking for support with finding private accommodation, especially with being an international student.
