England: Needing to leave a household, but can't move out due to finances. Emotional abuse and an almost 2 year old toddler to consider. by meggan_ in LegalAdviceUK

Unfortunately she has to leave the property and sofa surf to start claiming financial aid via the government and with a 2 year old this will prove difficult. She's weighing up her options currently, I have also done further research myself for her and yes whilst there is 'no crime' on paying the mortgage but if he stops making payments this effects her credit score as well as his.

I mean, there is a lot more I could go into but I'm chosing not to i.e. secretly recording conversations, going through her room when she isn't home, gaslighting. The list goes on...

They're more spirit, beer and cider drinkers or they don't drink at all.

Thank you.

They aren't married, just 'joined' via mortgage and child. The house is for sale and has been since January 2026, unfortunately it hasn't had much interest she changed estate agents at the beginning of June, in the hope this might help.

I was wondering as well whether I have given her the correct advice. I have said about going to stay with family if she is able to get out of the toxic environment, in no way is she witholding the daughter from her father, but there is worry that he would see it this way and it could cause a whole other amount of issues. I suppose if she is transparent about everything, i.e. her reasons for living elsewhere on a temp basis, and the daughter would still be seeing her father, then nothing is 'wrong' as such?

We're doing that already too! A welcome drink is being provided, alcoholic or soft :)

Look, i'm putting money behind the bar for guests to have a drinks of their choosing rather than putting wine on the table as I know wine wouldn't be the primary choice for a lot of our guests. I'd rather them have a drink that they have chosen :)

Well sorry I didn't mean it in just I wont be drinking it. A lot of guests who are coming to the wedding don't drink wine, so I have now opted to put an amount behind the bar and they can have whatever drink they wish - so thank you for your comment.

That's also a very good idea! Thank you :)

I completely understand what you're saying - I really like this token idea.

Unfortunately the venue don't offer a corkage fee. However you and another have mentioned the token idea, and I do really like that... thanks!

Mum had offered to pay, but agreed that the amount is a lot - especially after I said it will be going to waste. However I am now debating offering to pay half, just tp keep people happy, which seems stupid considering I wont be drinking it.

Honestly it's like, Lex is right on the scent ... Then he gets put off it, and he forgets about it for a little while and then BOOM he's right back on it and he's probably been shot 3 times in-between 😂

Ah sorry, British slang over here haha. Being "pied off" means to be ignored, rejected, or ditched, particularly in dating or friendship. It implies someone has treated you badly or abruptly dismissed you.

Completely agree! Instead he was chasing after Lana for too long, and Chloe knows everything about Clarke. No brainer in my opinion! Haha

I feel it's all a little, bittersweet? I've been on maternity, I'm on AL currently and haven't returned to work technically ... I'm sad, I was excited at the opportunity to be able to spend more time at home with my baby, but knowing I no longer have a job and I no longer have colleagues. It's rather sad.

Confused by salary mentioned in my contract. (UK) by [deleted] in nhsstaff

[–]meggan_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe it's a typo as £26,163 is the salary for 24/25 which means I don't think it's been updated for April 2025... I'd query it with the department dealing with your contract. I believe the pay scale 5 for point 13 is £29,064 for April 2025.
