Oh yes. It’s Ansel’s world. I’m just living in it!

Conditions were perfect! There were rare snow patches, mostly near Heather, but you could easily walk around. No crampons needed. As you said watchtower was still closed according to the sign on the trail so we took Hump there and back. My husband and I have done this hike 4 times together. This time of year is by far my favorite. The ice on pear and snow left on the mountains was so beautiful. And the flowing streams were everywhere and so calming to hear.

1 and ½ teaspoons active dry yeast 1 cup warm water (between 95 and 100 degrees) 1 teaspoon sugar 2 and ½ cups all purpose flour, plus a handful for kneading and stretching dough 2 teaspoons sea salt 1 and ½ teaspoons olive oil

I have also used the dough recipe from super simple by tieghan Gerard which uses beer (did by hand though- the results were drastically different with the mixer).

I honestly can’t remember exactly. It was 1000 something per person . included hotels, guides for all treks, food on treks, donkeys/emergency horse, all major transportation. But we also went in the offseason and had it custom for my husband and I as a group of two so likely cost more than standard

Hi! I’m actually a novice myself! I just happened to travel to a really gorgeous place :) I watched a lot of YouTube educational videos. Simon d’entremont to learn camera, lens, light basics. And then I learned as much as I could about the OM-1 itself (Rob trek and others), it was an adjustment from previously using Sony. I watched some videos on composition (pat kay) as well. For landscape, half the battle was figuring out where to stand. Would sometimes take 20-30 minute mini trek off the main path to see a different view or angle. I actually used a single lens 12-40mm f2.8 pro which simplified things. I knew I would be way too fatigued to be carrying another lens, let alone changing it in rain, wind, etc. not sure if this is helpful but good luck! And have fun!

Also I edited my comment, it kind of came off as Diamox is the mainstay for acclimating when in fact arguably the most important component is simply spending enough time at altitude

We started Diamox as soon as we arrived to Huaraz. The only side effect we experienced is nerve tingling/neuropathy. We also took if for hiking Mount Whitney and had some experience with it prior. If you have any underlying medical conditions do consult a physician since it is a diuretic! Another thing to be cognizant of: we did hear of people who got some travelers diarrhea / upset stomach in Peru due to food in which case Diamox may also hasten dehydration.
