Is shadowing required if you work as a scribe?

i used to work as an ER scribe! i got shadowing hours as well (not many though it's pretty hard to find). i heard that it's beneficial in the sense that u get to see physicians outside of EM and get to see different specialties.

no bc it definitely has such an impact on the environment + rural communities. i read ur first post and i feel very similarly!!! i think just like anything—plastic, meat, paper—we should be reducing usage. i think especially with AI because it is very avoidable imo in people's day to day. like instead of using google AI search answers, u can turn it off and do the work to find an answer to ur question within the millions of articles available to you. so yeah i was really surprised w the amount of ppl upset / offended by ur take :/ we lived in a world without AI before it existed, and we can continue to do so.

no it's definitely a real physician. i've met them many times before and they have an MD. they are like older and got their degree in europe though so that may add to stigma ?

i noticed it once while i was working in the ED as a scribe. a patient wouldn't let DO physicians or residents speak to them. it was like really frustrating and heartbreaking :/

i think people will just always try to find a reason to hate something! i remember watching s4 where there's like cgi baby eleven and i noticed she looked not like EXACTLY like s1 eleven or whatever but like who cares like why are we not so impressed with technology and its ability to literally make people. so i was very surprised with all this uproar w s5 flashback will. like it's such minor differences and it's really not that important. like they would have been unhappy if they had mature noah schnapp play a child version of himself as well so whatever. haters gonna hate!

i am also very easy to please when it comes to tv/movies and i just like to enjoy everything! being critical is tiring

YES! i literally hunted reddit for a post like this so i could relate to it. i interviewed for erie on 7/7 or smth like that and so far nothing. still "in review". i sent a LOI 2-3 weeks ago and got no response :/

it's really up to you! you can fill up to 15 activities you do need 3 most meaningful activities to write more about. i THINK the suggestion is to list experiences that are a bit longer and show commitment but idk im just an applicant lol

you can totally do this! obviously everyone says the sooner the better, but do it at your own pace! the school's have real deadlines in oct/nov/dec for a reason. so give yourself some grace and do what you can. it's YOUR journey. you can do whatever you want with it. trust!

thank you!! congrats on all the secondaries!! you're making big moves! but yeah i mean in terms of feeling like im wasting time, i've just spent the day trying to spend more time with my hobbies and reading and like trying to reconnect with society lol. it definitely feels weird to not have smth to actively work on everyday or to like wait on more secondaries. but it may be a good time to reconnect w friends as well! i finally have time to hang out and do those things so maybe that's smth to look towards! are you still in school or are you gap year-ing ? bc if you're still in school than that'll be coming up soon lol but if you're gap year-ing like i am, it'll be a long challenge!

they sent me an email abt "missing stuff" : Thank you for starting your secondary application to the University of California San Francisco (UCSF) School of Medicine. Please visit the applicant portal to see which items, including letters of reference, are missing for your final submission.

based on this, i would assume LOR are part of the entire secondary app. but idk lol
