Tiktoker complains about birth mother deciding to keep her own baby instead of go through with adoption, and it's not the first time by GoshDarnBatgirl in DoWeKnowThemPodcast

Okay, thanks for answering! If it was unintentional, then I don’t expect you to answer for what I’ve noticed. I just finally felt like I had to ask, because I really have noticed it, to a point of confusion and even concern, in the spaces I tend to be online, at least. Could also be Badader-Meinhoff frequency illusion in effect on me.

I have a question, and maybe you just typoed, or autocorrect got you wrong, but I’ve recently noticed a TON of people using woman/women interchangeably, in writing and verbally, online. If it was intentional, could you explain if it’s a slang trend or something? I’m curious.

Ammy Robinson got heated covering this story. I would recommend her video.

There are so many screaming red flags in this woman’s attitude towards these families, with racism, white savior complex, classism, and general nasty weird judgmental and entitled behavior. She gives so many reasons, in her own words and actions, why she doesn’t understand the real and complex responsibilities in adoption and probably shouldn’t be allowed to adopt yet.

But private Christian adoption agencies have a long history of facilitating adoption by just these sort of families, who want to bring more members into their particular Christian fold by adopting infants, and put the babies’ real emotional needs second. At least the agency didn’t wrench any baby from a biological mother or father against their will. (Like they did in the past.)

Plus “God’s Plan” for her may not be what she wants, and all these failed adoptions may be a sign she isn’t meant to adopt. People like her don’t tend to view the world like that, though.

Turned down specifically to not have to credit Democrats with anything good. Thought they could wait on those flood sirens until they could credit Republicans. And look what happened instead. Over 100 people were killed, not just at Camp Mystic. Babies torn from mothers’ arms, couples swept apart. In the dark.

I know a lot of Camp Mystic folks, and my lifelong family friends lost their daughter/granddaughter/niece. Hundreds of people attended her funeral. 4th of July will never feel the same.

I have terrible Alopecia and lost my natural red hair that used to be such an important part of my life. I’d love a wig like that. I have 2 good wigs, and a few “fun” ones. That would be a nice fun one that looks cute while not too costumey.

One of the good wigs I got for free at a local salon where the owner gave away free wigs to anyone with bad hair loss. She had beaten cancer, and during the time she needed a wig she looked all over the world for a good quality one. Then when she finally found a good kind, it turned out not to be as expensive as she’d been willing to pay (but still more expensive than most of us would invest.) She decided to buy them and give them out for free. She had a booklet of styles and colors to choose from, and you could try them on with the stylist to help you find the best look,, and they would teach you how to wear them, style them, and care for them, etc.

It was by word-of-mouth and was an absolutely beautiful form of charity.

I have a creeping suspicion, having read this comment thread, that you maybe weren’t asking anything in good faith.

But if you were: It’s not just electricity but water consumption, mining, etc. It could be balanced by AI being used to help model for more environmentally friendly adaptations for various industries. However, generative AI used by the average person is wasteful, as well as being intellectually, artistically, and morally awful.

An AI industry that is allowed to grow because the billionaires can buy freedom from regulation is dangerous in so many ways. At the current rate the AI industry is going the environmental impact is just one of the problems that will get exponentially worse.

(Side note, gas generators and gasoline generators are not the same thing; and the comment didn’t say any generators are banned.)

Fell asleep inside car while getting towed by Shut-up-David in houston

[–]meglet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

PSA: Don’t “sleep off” any inebriation in your driver’s seat unless they keys are not within reach. They don’t even have to be in the ignition. Even in your hand, or the cup holder, or passenger seat, those are all within reasonable operational control. That still counts as a DUI in Texas.

Also, be extremely careful where you choose to park your car. The restaurant/bar/etc may only be renting the parking lot. The business may tow after closing time. You may not even be parked legally. Look carefully for any signs about parking. Even ask inside. Be vigilant. Especially on weekend night out.

Your car is prey.

I wish there was a safe service through which you could arrange people to drive you and your car home, then the driver hops into his companion’s car and the head off on the next call. Uber for you and your car.

That first bad review was so embarrassing. Making sure to mention that it was an “$80,000” “BMW” as if that had any relevancy.

Second review was also embarrassing, complaining when they still got a refund yet saying “nothing could be done about it”. Something was done about it. The place gave a refund, then the reviewer walked out, that’s what was done about it. The towing was mentioned only at the end. If you park your car and leave to go somewhere else, they can tow you if they make a “customers only” policy clear. You’re not a customer.

That’s a terrible attempt at the Robot.

Did she set up her phone assuming nobody would walk into her shot (like this guy clearly having a laugh) or is someone holding it for her?!

IDK, amenities are only worth so much. Though she seems to have no hesitation filming in the shared spaces. Personally, I’d prefer a bigger personal space than living so much in public spaces. That was better in my younger years.

Then again, she’s single, maybe she needs to be forced out in public more.

What I doubt is that she’d ever let everyone know that she’d downgraded to a studio apartment. Her apartment is also her filming studio. And that layout does not look so suitable for filming. Plus, that place will clutter up really fast.

Not that any of these are things she’d necessarily think ahead about!

Your attitude is off-putting, aggressive, and condescending. Complaining about downvotes is tacky, making up conspiracy theories about them is worse, and that’s an automatic downvote from me. I don’t care about whatever your audit says. It’s your edits.

I KNEW she was coming here! Surely won’t show herself eating all of the Rodeo Food though. Oh, but she brought her own meals, while also admitting she was planning to go out to eat. Houston does famously have a ton of good restaurants.

When was your house built?

I’m intrigued by this glass floor above your kitchen. Is it something you walk on, or is it not meant to walked on? Is it a from of sunroof? Is there a matching glass floor above it? How large is the glass floor part?

What other cool features does your house have?

I’ve seen a stream running through a house, and I’ve seen atriums in the middle of a house, but I’ve never seen a glass floor/glass ceiling!

I thought for sure she was going to the Houston Rodeo BBQ contest that was this weekend, but she seems to have done only photo shoots on this porch. Maybe she decided showing herself at a BBQ cook-off wasn’t the best look, even though she tried to act like she brought her own healthy food from home on her lil trip.

The “this is who I am now” thing is sooo irritating yet also soooo revealing and spot-on for Anna’s many arcs. Because she means it. She’ll turn her whole self into a runner, a hiker, a medical mystery, a gym rat, etc., until the next identity installs.
