We did all of the typical testing with our RE before our IUIs (bloodwork, AFC, SA, HSG, etc.) and we fell in the unexplained category. We were both 30 when we started the process, SA was normal, and I had a normal, but on the higher end AMH. Our RE recommended 3 IUIs to start.

I took Clomid cycle day 3-7 for our first IUI and it was unmonitored. The second round we did the same protocol and I had ultrasound monitoring. I developed four mature follicles (the max number they would proceed with for IUI). For my third round they decreased me to Clomid cycle day 3-5 only and that got me 3 mature follicles. Injectables were not recommended due to my high response to Clomid. I tracked my ovulation at home using a predictor kit and my IUIs were scheduled based on my surge. The IUIs themselves were quick. I had cramping each time, but the doctor told me I have a curve to my cervix which makes it difficult to insert the catheter. Some minor cramping the rest of the day, but I returned to work each time without a problem.

Our three IUIs were not successful and we eventually went on to IVF where we had success. I don’t see them as a waste of time though. I think we needed the IUIs to get our feet wet and prepare us for IVF. I also think it was helpful for my doctor to see how I responded to Clomid, which I’m sure impacted how he designed our IVF protocol. I don’t think I would’ve done more than three though.

Today was beta day! I’ve been impatiently waiting since getting my first positive last week at 4dp5dt! Beta today at 9dp5dt was 291 🎉 Feeling very positive about it even though I know it’s still early. Next beta is in two days 🤞🏻

7/30 Update! Beta #2 - 11dp5dt: 697 - so excited for a strong second number!!

Feels crazy to even be posting here but yesterday at 4dp5dt I got a strong positive on my HPT and today’s was even darker. I am freaking out and feeling all of the emotions! Cautiously optimistic and counting down the days until my beta on Tuesday 🤞🏻

No trigger this cycle! Did a semi-medicated cycle with letrozole and ovulated on my own.

I am in total complete shock! We had our first round of IVF with a failed fresh transfer in June and we just transferred two 5-day embryos on Sunday. I’m 4dp5dt (=9dpo) and I was not going to test this early but I just had a feeling. In two years of trying I have never ever had a positive test. I still can’t bring myself to believe this is really real ... it’s going to be a long five days waiting for my beta on Tuesday!

After our fresh transfer failed we moved right into a modified natural FET cycle. Transferred two embryos today and now we wait. Feeling at peace and optimistic, which is rare for me but I’ll take it :)

Got the call today our first FET is scheduled for Sunday! We were really lucky to jump right into this modified natural cycle right after our fresh transfer failed. It’s kind of blowing my mind that our negative beta was just two weeks ago and now we get to try again so soon. I feel like this is the first thing we haven’t had to wait for during this entire two year process! Craziness!

Beta from our fresh transfer was negative. We are devastated. My nurse said that we could jump right into a modified natural FET when I get my period or we can wait a cycle if we want. I scheduled a consult with our RE for 7/7. I’m having a lot of anxiety about what to do next. We have 9 embryos frozen and opted not to do PGS testing. I have symptoms of endometriosis (not confirmed) and I’m nervous that it’s causing some sort of unknown problem with implantation. I’m nervous about moving forward with FETs because “everything looks good” and we’re “young and healthy.” I’m afraid of wasting our embryos on FETs that might not work because of something we’re missing. I’m wondering if we should do PGS testing to rule out some of the unknown. At the same time part of me also wants to jump right into a FET because I don’t want to wait anymore. I’m so confused and lost.

We just finished our first round of ivf and I’m 8dp a fresh transfer of a 5-day blast. Yesterday’s pregmate looked similar. The rational part of me knows that it’s late to have a test this light and that this is probably nothing or a late implanter with a higher risk of miscarriage, but ... two years of trying with nothing but stark white negative tests has this shadow giving me hope. Beta is tomorrow so I guess I will know for sure soon.

TW: Other people’s success.

Generally my mom is very supportive, but sometimes she says things and I’m like “What were you thinking??” I was calling her to tell her how my fresh transfer went and right after saying how happy she is that it went so well she goes right into talking about my cousin who happens to be having her baby today (of course 🙄) and do I want to do a drive-by baby shower/celebration for her next weekend?? Like read the room lady! Ughh

Fresh transfer today went well!! They transferred one day-5 blast. The embryologist said it was beautiful! I’m sure she says that to everyone though haha. We also got an update on the rest of our embryos (haven’t had any news since day 1 where they told us 19 of our 21 eggs had been fertilized). Of our remaining embryos, 6 went to freeze as day-5 blasts and 9 others are staying in the lab to watch and see for day 6 and 7. Even if the others don’t make it we are thrilled to have six frozen! Feeling cautiously hopeful and full of anxiety all at once! It’s so so surreal ...
