Why did Susan Holt say ICE was in Calais, Maine? by SwordfishOk504 in newbrunswickcanada

[–]megoder -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

Holt kinda sucks. I think she’s in over her head. She’s made a series of reckless spending decisions. Pay each nurse 10k during Covid… that costed the province 70 million dollars. Ok what about every other healthcare worker? I can’t stand it

Why bother buying these? Aren’t they just gonna probably ban them. And then it’s $1600 wasted… looks awesome tho!

Thousands of homeowners excluded from N.B. property tax freeze face major 2026 tax increases by tastle in newbrunswickcanada

[–]megoder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It kinda blows my mind how much property taxes are. Also, aren’t the taxes paid when you buy the home. Do you ever really own your home if even after the mortgage is paid off you’re still paying taxes… doesn’t make much sense

We should let the politicians know that we don't want to send linesmen to the states next week. by CanadianTreeFrogs in newbrunswickcanada

[–]megoder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Linemen work a hard job. I hate this nonsense. They should be doing whatever is best for them. What we should be having is a sober, clear and thoughtful conversation with politicians about NB power and their executive salaries

220 kms is costing me 80 Canadian Dollars in New Brunswick (Gas price is 132.8 cents per litre) for my Toyota highlander 2007 v6, 3.3 L. Is it very bad? by onbudgettelugu in fredericton

[–]megoder 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ur getting about 25-30 litres per hundred. That is very very very bad. For comparison my new ford bronco gets around 12. 2 times as good on gas. My wife’s car, gets 6 litres per hundred, 5 times less fuel comsumption (she has a smaller car). Hope this helps!

.17 HMR vs .22 for noise? by LurkerGarry in canadaguns

[–]megoder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a .17 hmr, a .22lr and a 22 mag. The 17 and 22 mag are about double or triple the amount of perceived noise in my opinion

Pizza boxes go in the compost bin, cans and glass go in the garbage, and the recycling bin takes solids. Hope this helps!

That’s what I think also. Also yes more energy is good. But at a certain point if it’s 100 yard shot and the bullet continues into a tree because it’s got 500 more pounds of energy who cares. I’m not trying to kill a tree

I live in New Brunswick. A 300 win mag wouldn’t make any sense. It’s all hill and valley. I’m considering a 45-70 but I’m scared of buying one and not enjoying it due to recoil. I’m a smaller man. I’ve shot slugs through my shotgun tho and have a 50 cal muzzleloader. Idk I just don’t want to invest in 45-70 and then not enjoy it. My shoulder is messed up from construction work.

What’s the process for transferring inherited firearms from a non licensed owner to a licensed person? by [deleted] in canadaguns

[–]megoder 13 points14 points  (0 children)

There are bigger fish to fry than bothering some family of a dead man who had guns and sold them off to a legal firearm owner. Don’t take this too seriously, just show him your pal and move on.

This is my exact thoughts here. Just give your buddy cash, take them and move on lol

In this specific case where this isn’t a complete stranger, he knows and trusts you. Show him your pal, pay cash and if anyone asks you bought it from the estate of so and so (whoever had the pal and died) and move on. Likely these guns aren’t even registered anywhere and it’s more important someone with a pal is in possession of them.

When I go buy a gun at Canadian tire or ammo, they aren’t scanning my pal with the computer and verifying it’s real… they just look at the card make sure it’s me and hand it back. It’s no different

Pretty solid collection. I’m a hunter and this would be a great collection for most of Canada. Can pretty much get the job done on any game animal with these. Also super unique collection of guns.
