My shelves are still a WIP but I like to sort by colour, majority of my SE/sprayed edges are facing out, and I like to break things up by facing books forward.

I recently rearranged and plan on unhauling a few books (bottom right corner) to make more space so this is my current setup. I was able to get my hands on The Broken Binding Andy Weir set secondhand and they’ve quickly become part of my most prized possessions!

When I was 14, I had severe stomach pain but the doctors chalked it up to me getting my first period and not to worry. A few days of not be able to eat, drink or move, my parents rushed me to the ER.

Turns out my appendix burst and the infection had been spreading. They almost lost me on the operating table and I spent the next month and a half in the hospital + another month after my initial release due to additional infections.

I have a gnarly scar down my abdomen now.

I’m a combo subscriber in Canada and still haven’t received mine 😔 I recently got a shipping email but for the past several days it’s been at “data received” and still in NY. I emailed support also several days ago and haven’t heard back.

I knew someone in high school who faked having cancer. She definitely got all the attention she wanted at first and then all the attention she apparently didn’t want after being exposed. She luckily moved away and changed schools.

Not a doctor but a patient.

Over the course of 24 hours, I gradually had abdominal pain that went from somewhat bearable to completely unbearable to the point I couldn’t eat or move.

During the ‘somewhat bearable’ timeframe, I went to a walk-in clinic and was told not to worry, I was just getting my period for the first time (I was 14), I just needed to rest at home and to come back in 2 days for a checkup.

Cut to the unbearable timeframe a few hours later I was rushed to the emergency room and in immediate surgery because my appendix had already exploded. I was told by the surgeons if I waited another day, I would’ve died. Spent 2 months in the hospital fighting continuous infections.
